CU Buffs Football - 2022 Eligibility & Depth Charts

Dismissed for violation of team rules.

He was our primary 300+ pound backup DT, so this one does hurt the rotation and depth.

Young guys just had some additional pressure put on them. Tyas Martin has got to seize the opportunity or it's a problem.
Somebody better. Our linebacker core and secondary isn't exactly deep.

A few surprises, some minor:

1. Fillip & Roddick being the left side of the OL. That had been mentioned as a possibility, but I didn't really expect it to happen.
2. Center and QB battles don't look fully settled. RB, too. I think they know who is starting but just don't want to announce it.
3. Mo Bell won a starting WR job over Sneed. I think that's partly the Sneed injury that limited him until the end of camp & some good news about Bell.
4. I knew Fauria was coming on as TE2, but I didn't expect to see Olsen listed as TE4.
5. Wasn't expecting Ham to start. I'd figured it would be Perry and Semedo at the Sam & Mike. That's probably a good sign.
6. Only surprise in the secondary for me is that Bethel isn't even on the Nickel depth. Maybe not ready to play due to the injury he was dealing with in camp?
7. Specialists are what I would have expected and am glad to see Penry getting to shine there along with Reed.
8. Gustav the only guy out with injury and we really need him back healthy for our EDGE and OLB depth.

Alvin Williams not being the clear EDGE2 is a surprise. Haven’t heard Jamar Montgomery’s name I’m a long time and Williams has been talked about quite a bit

Now that I’ve actually seen it “in print,” that defensive backfield depth chart scares me. I was able to ignore it until now.
Espinoza island, I think, will be real this year. I like all the starters but there is no way that stays intact all year

I wouldn’t read too much into Sneed. He’ll be the best WR on the team and I think that is more to do with him just recently practicing.

I also don’t think this team plays 3 ILB’s much.

1. I thought Jordyn Tyson was the truth at WR... that's what I heard in the camp thread. Kinda hard to be an impact player at 3rd on the depth chart.
2. RJ Sneed was supposed to offset losing Rice, but he didn't beat out a guy who has less than 100 yards receiving in 3 years n the team?
3. Depth is, as always with CU, a major issue. Particularly in the defensive backfield, TE, and OL. If there are injury issues at those spots, we're going to see some bad, bad, bad games this year.

Tyson’s a true freshman who will likely be in the rotation quite a bit. Sneed was injured all camp and just started practicing last week. WR is a fairly deep position regardless. The least concerning position on the team
