Many of them are douchey bagmen who have gambling problems, to be honest.Yeah. It seems there are a lot more Jason Scheer’s on 247 than Adam M’s.

Maybe - he’s already run the Vikings right? But he’s also likely to be over 60 whenever Goodell steps down and that might be a tad old if owners want the next person to hold the job for a decade or more. There’s only been like 3 NFL commissioners since the merger so hard to say what they look for. Tagliabue was a lawyer who was the NFL’s outside counsel. Goodell is basically an NFL lifer having started as an intern, but the guy he beat for the job in 2006 (Gregg Levy) was basically Tagliabue 2.0 - I think he’s even still the NFL’s outside counsel at the same firm Tagliabue worked for.At this point in time, probably. Warren did everything he needed to do for the B1G at the moment, securing the largest CFB media contract in history, and stole the LA market. Next big thing would be further expansion and renegotiating the next deal in 5-6 years, so nothing new.
If he has his sites set on NFL commissioner, getting back into the league is the next step, IMO
I think there’s little doubt that the NFL will stay inside the NFL for the next commissioner, hence the reason I think Warren needs to get back in the league, and I also think they will prefer a black man. I don’t think it’s a slam dunk he gets the job, but I think if he’s back in the league for a few years he would be the front runner or a top 2-3 candidate.Maybe - he’s already run the Vikings right? Wouldn’t be surprised if Goodell pushes for someone inside league offices (Troy Vincent, Brian Rolapp, etc) but who knows what teams will be looking for when the time comes.
Some might prefer a black man but this is still mostly old white billionaires who will choose the next Commissioner. Warren’s got an impressive resume but I wonder if his age will present an issue depending how long Goddell sticks around. My money is on Rolapp but I don’t really know.I think there’s little doubt that the NFL will stay inside the NFL for the next commissioner, hence the reason I think Warren needs to get back in the league, and I also think they will prefer a black man. Not really, but it came up in the context of Warren maybe taking a job to better position himself for the role. And he’s now served longer than Tagliabue (I think). Is there talk of Goodell stepping down?
Yes, there are thoughts that he will step aside when his current contract ends in March 2024.Is there talk of Goodell stepping down?
As a Bears fan, I hope so.Is being President of the Chicago Bears really a better job than BIG Commissioner?
Boooo. I have no interest in the B1G. Especially if the CFP is expanded to 12This.
A revitalized CU was always a great strategic fit with the B1G. A downtrodden CU, not so much.
Not only does a revitalized CU add value to the conference in its own right, it's the rare commodity that actually makes some of your current assets more valuable. NU is a much more valuable school with CU in the conference than it is outside the conference.
If there's a conference that understands both the value of and how to market and hype rivalries, it's the B1G.
Within the next 20 years, the CFP will have its own league made up of the schools in the B1G and $EC.Boooo. I have no interest in the B1G. Especially if the CFP is expanded to 12
I know. And I hate it.Within the next 20 years, the CFP will have its own league made up of the schools in the B1G and $EC.
I don’t see this happening without one of these leagues gaining a larger presence (beyond SC and UCLA) in the western time zones. Too many TV sets out west to ignore when establishing a super league.Within the next 20 years, the CFP will have its own league made up of the schools in the B1G and $EC.
The ratings for college football are already meh in most western markets. They don’t need western presence to make their league viable.I don’t see this happening without one of these leagues gaining a larger presence (beyond SC and UCLA) in the western time zones. I’m not saying they do, but with CFB being cyclical, you’d think that some foresight might suggest they want to capture the PNW and Northern CA at a minimum. Those markets have a ton of talent and that matters. The ratings for college football are already meh in most western markets. They don’t need western presence to make their league viable.
Not for what they need to accomplish. The talent will go where the money is located. This is why getting one of the few remaining seats at the table is important for programs who want to compete ay the highest level.I’m not saying they do, but with CFB being cyclical, you’d think that some foresight might suggest they want to capture the PNW and Northern CA at a minimum. Defiant white students at Arkansas’ North Little Rock High School block the doors of the school, denying access to six African-American students enrolled in the school Sept. 9, 1957. Moments later the African American students were shoved down a flight of stairs and onto the sidewalk, where city police broke up the altercation. (AP Photo/William P. Straeter)

Jerry Jones is VERY much on the liberal side of deep pockets in the south.Jerry has admitted it's him but has not apologized.
You know, I can forgive a teenager being overly passionate in a dumb way as a product of their time and upbringing. But I expect that teenager to grow up and be ashamed of something like this. Fvck Jerry Jones.
So, anti slavery as long as owners are paid for the loss of their property?Jerry Jones is VERY much on the liberal side of deep pockets in the south.

Yes, he talks to black people.Jerry Jones is VERY much on the liberal side of deep pockets in the south.
I don’t actually believe that these rich, white owners would actively try to avoid a minority hire for commissioner but I also think diversity in that specific role is waaaaaaaaaay down their list of priorities. So someone like Warren could certainly be hired, but I’m not convinced diversity is a priority. This guy is one of the loudest voices in the room...

ASU is more SEC than Zona.I have zero interest in the B1G either
Cold shytty places to go play football
I would rather join the SEC with Arizona and Kansas
I think I still prefer the B1G because of Nebraska (and some personal reasons with Wisconsin). I want CU to have a nationally relevant rivalry game that will generate 4m+ eyeballs every year. The SEC would probably be a little more ideal with Prime as HC and his recruiting foot print, and it would make for some awesome roadies, though. Before Prime, I would have argued that we are more closely aligned with the B1G from a culture standpoint. I still feel that way, but the needle has shifted.
This was a part of my thought as well as our “new” recruiting footprint with Prime.I hadn't thought about the SEC as an option, but I think I prefer that to the B1G. SEC has fanbases that will travel to Boulder with authority and with it a serious economic boost, remember the UGA game? You reconnect with old rivals in Mizzou and OU, and more recent conf partners in UT and A&M. Nebraska is the only B1G connection, because we never really connected with UCLA or USC anyway. Nebraska can wither away alone. Road trips to the south east much preferred to the rust belt in the fall.
oh, and it just means more.
