I specifically remember that from 3rd gradeI f****** hate the term four corners. Iāve never heard of this term until July 2022 and to me it stands for second class citizen in the P12. Puts us with a basketball school, a glorified community college and former MW school. Itās code for āgo to the B12 alreadyā.
Iām not saying thatās what you meant just ranting on that term.
For sure. It was mostly the LA schools that blocked SDSU. But the AZ schools also weren't fans since they saw SD as their recruiting grounds and Cal opposed due to UC vs CS system politics.SDSU coach making g good points.

nopeIs there a worse thread on allbuffs?
I agree with @Victory . I've never heard that term used in this context before. It's stupid , non-associative and almost a pejorative. And especially when no NM school is involved; can't have a 4Corner discussion grouping without a fourth state involved. Why are the four schools grouped like that when all they do is share a corner.Let me rephrase for the record (need the court stenographer this is important). Iāve never heard of these four schools being called 4Cs before the realignment s*** went down. Geographically speaking, yes Iāve heard of it before. Football wise, no, never heard us referred to that way with those other 3 schools. Have you? Has anyone?
Would you feel better if we were described as the MTZ schools or non-coastal schools or something else?I agree with @Victory . I've never heard that term used in this context before. Well, two of those PAC 8 schools just told the rest of the conference to **** off, so.Would you feel better if we were described as the MTZ schools or non-coastal schools or something else?
I will agree that there's a bit of old, traditionalist, arrogant pejorative applied by some Pac folks to any member that wasn't part of the Pac-8.
I donāt like it because itās exclusively used to describe us + other schools going to the B12. No one has or will ever say āfour corners to the Big Tenā. Personally, I donāt always want Colorado associated with Arizona, ASU. They are clearly the second class citizens of the P12 and they are hot for the B12. Utah is fine. I ripped on them in my original post but I not in a serious way. Utah has conducted themselves fairly well during all of this and hasnāt put out any B12 vibes.Good lord. Are people actually taking offense to a term thatās used to group four schools together in an easy way so that everybody immediately knows who theyāre referring to?
itās a simple, non pejorative yet descriptive term. I highly doubt folks at UNM are all that bent out of shape because they arenāt included.

And the B1G gonna be like, ādo you even go here?āWell, two of those PAC 8 schools just told the rest of the conference to **** off, so.
It is amazing that one president and AD can set a school and conference towards disaster that is years off in the making. And the B1G gonna be like, ādo you even go here?ā
I have typed, edited and deleted several replies. Let's just say that I question what Benson was capable of understanding and leading on, but this was earlier in his tenure so it may have legitimately been his own opinion. It is amazing that one president and AD can set a school and conference towards disaster that is years off in the making.
I was reading quotes from Bruce Benson when we joined P12 saying āno way Texas and Oklahoma should join. We donāt want to form an east division. Iāll fight it hardā. I understand where he was coming from but jfc Bruce way to screw up the long game. He couldnāt see the big board at the time.
if ucla and usc don't shank everyone on their way out, this opinion might have been fine.I have typed, edited and deleted several replies. What if USC and UCLA are doing the same thing Benson and CU did to the Texas B12 teams in 2010.if ucla and usc don't shank everyone on their way out, this opinion might have been fine.
āThe mountain time zone states largely present clean lines and right angles, versus the squiggly-ass mess that West Virginia throws out thereā¦āI seriously thought this thread had hit the bottom...and then geography smack reared its ugly head.
Itās funny bc it looks so obvious now (add Texas et al) but back then Benson probably sounded like he had a good plan. Itās also why I believe a lot of presidents in the same seats (not Saliman but other P12 schools) might not have good foresight when it comes to the B12.I have typed, edited and deleted several replies.
