Namaste. Let your cares drift away…..

If only there was a way to check in with the people involved and report back what they say in a way where everyone is updated. 🤔 Crazy concept, maybe one day they’ll invent something like this.

May be the first time I've hit ITB with a thumbs up in this entire, checks count…- JFC, 440 page thread.
I agree that thumbs are and excellent way to loosen up an ITBand…. Just not sure how that relates to the well-defined issues being cogently discussed and—clearly—resolved in this—no doubt lengthy, but still critical—thread.

It's been fun not caring because all the options suck.
Yep. As long as the money and exposure are enough to keep the Prime Train moving while giving us a path to the playoffs, I really don't care what happens all that much. I'm in "take care of what we need to for the rest of this decade so we're an established elite for the 2030 round" mode.

Yup. it's about staying on the Prime train, nothing more, for the foreseeable future. And hoping that train doesn't suck.

Tad in a very competitive Basketball league
Let's go

Because of how badly managed the PAC has been managed for about a decade now. The intrinsic potential worth of the PAC brands isn't the only variable in the equation.
I agree on all counts, but still stand by my assertion that Stanford, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado are worth more than the entire leftover 12.

Here's good news if you want to stay in the PAC and want to believe a Duck. It's from the Oregon 247 board so if a mod doesn't like this I'll take it down.

Wait to shoot the messenger until the deal is announced please...

Buckle up boys and girls, this is about to be all sorted, and should be announced once a few more things get buttoned up. Mid-July would be my guess.

My phone has been abuzz the last couple days from some of a older families contacts in the Sports Media World. The league will come in solidly as the third best paid P5 league afte BIG and SEC the last few days. That is now sounding like just about an guarantee. It appears our new commissioner may actually do the impossible, as well as can play chicken with the best of them an win. The deal has moved beyond the $31-$33K that was being floated out the last couple weeks by people outside the league (Likely either ESPN or BIG12). Take this with a grain of salt, but it appears our deal is going to be insanely creative and might come in much closer to BIG money than BIG 12 money, once all the i's are dotted, the t's crossed and incentives and creative avenues added in. Also looking like SMU will pay their way into the league, i.e., they pay the first year WITHOUT distrubution. Had heard this was a possibiliy this week, but now Canzano just went on the Locked on Pac12 Pod and stated it too. Also at least two streamng options onboard, i,e. Apple and another in addition to ESPN, and some other partners.

What I like most about what I'm hearing is we are leveraging our B/B+ games with streamers, giving ESPN top picks, and getting significatinly more cash than the Big12 who had to sell ALL RIGHTS to their B games to ESPN to get their deal, which translates into a Tuesday and Wednesday Night Big 12 games of the week on the mothership. Lisen to the Locked on Pod with Canzano. He's seems really dialed into what is going on in real time.

I'm not sure I believe the Duck here.
This Tuesday and Wednesday night BIG12 game of the week is BS.

This is probably more 'ass talking '
but would share something from the PAC side of things.

I like what ITB just posted above. It would have been nice if there was just one streaming partner but I'm good with Apple & ESPN+ as two streaming partners. The ability to watch those games anytime & anywhere is exactly what I am looking for and it looks like I will get what I want.

The tide is definitely shifting towards CU staying in the PAC.

I could see ESPN wanting Tue/Wed night games. The only conference I think that's been willing has been the MAC. But if those MAC games were outperforming regular programming they'd otherwise have on those nights, I could see them offering the B12 significant cash incentive in the contract to do it.

Whether the B12 would or did accept, I kind of doubt. It would have been publicized heavily by now. Heck, just their commissioner exploring ideas like a separate media contract for hoops or playing some conference games in Mexico got a lot of run.

I don't think that Duck fan is correct about Tuesday & Wednesday night Big 12 games of the week too but at the same time it sounded like the Big 12 was content with taking a step back football-wise while remaining on top basketball-wise. So that Tuesday & Wednesday night B12 games might be real.

uh, you want to talk about a bad deal look at the ACC. Really long and underpays.

We signed the largest deal in CFB when the pac was created. We had the 2nd network after the BigTen Network. For the extra money we signed a longer deal at 12(?) years.

Things after that made our deal look bad.

We couldnt get on DTV. The B1Gs big deal a year later that was obscene money and shorter. The SECs big deal, expansion, then another deal Creating the SEC Network. Our network proved to be bad and cable started dying. All the schools hired mostly **** coaches. Larry turned out to be pretty lame after he signed the first deal. USC and UCLA bailed because of all of it.

FWIW...The Monty Show is calling bs on this too as well as the Locked on PAC12 podcast where Canzano was a guest. Conzano says SMU is willing to payoff the Comcast debt plus take no money the first year in the PAC. That would be $70 million from oil tycoons ??? What??
Seriously??

Sure sounds like PAC12 mouthpieces are talking out of their asses today. Has Clownzano lost all credibility?
