CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

i won't communicate via text or email with anyone on an android device. it is a holy pact i have sworn to follow. jihad against the androids. apple is the one truth path to salvation.

the infidels and idolators who have placed their trust in the false prophet of android must be punished.

[dear hokie-- this is mere puffery and hyperbole, with some sarcasm thrown in. it would be best if you did not read it literally. ... like the bible, actually.]
Liver, again, worshipping the wrong false god

ESPN isn't on hard financial times. They may want you to think that but it's far from the truth.

ESPN is, in and of itself, a profitable business. Disney's domestic linear networks generated more operating profits for the business than any other segment in fiscal year 2022, bringing in $8.5 billion. ESPN plays a substantial role in that segment, as it anchors the cable bundle and sells a lot of advertising.
Would ESPN want me to think they're on hard financial times?

OF COURSE THEY WOULD

I think that the length of this thread is partly due to Buff fans jonesing for the football season to start. The realignment topic is kind of interesting but is it really all that interesting?
I think it's intriguing and obviously so do many others. the VT board I frequent has had an entire forum dedicated to conference realignment for 10+ years.

I just freaking hate GREEN Text messages.
It is such a class system for me.
Blue Text Good on Apple Devices
Green Text Bad, message sent to lowly Android

Pac-12 Propagandists are out today. So does ITB blow on his conch horn and get Dodds to counter it?

THE STORM IS COMING!

It’s bizarre, because supposedly there are CU AD staffers who have been told that we will be playing in the B12 as early as 2024. I wonder if RG is orchestrating this to light a fire under the P12. If so, it kind of, maybe sort of appears to be working. A little.

No school wants to leave the PAC unless financially forced to do so.
IF the tv deal sucks where the money and exposure are lacking, Colorado has made the necessary back-up plans to move.
Holy **** - a very reasonable take, and not reposting a. B12 mouthpiece or b. borderline tin-foil youtube video commentaries.

May be the first time I've hit ITB with a thumbs up in this entire, checks count - JFC, 440 page thread.

I have no idea what is going on, or who to believe, but I think all would agree if the P12-2 leadership did not turn this into a dumpster fire riding in the trunk of a clown car, this discussion would not be necessary.

I think that the length of this thread is partly due to Buff fans jonesing for the football season to start and needing a bone to compulsively chew on. The realignment topic is kind of interesting but come on folks, is it really all that interesting?
This thread is about uncertainty, discomfort, and anxiety.

I understand some of the delays from the P12. Blindsided by the B1G exodus and were in limbo until the UCLA case was closed by its Regents and the state. Real negotiations couldn't really start until that was settled and expansion candidates had been vetted & valued.

Then you have Oregon desperately pursuing its own B1G invite (UW also very interested but not with the pressure of its sugar daddy booster being 85 years old and wanting things done while he's still alive). While that's going on, no one was going to sign a deal with a P12 which was under threat of losing 2 of its most valuable assets.

From there, it was clear that a non-traditional media deal was going to be necessary to provide a path to achieving revenue goals. That means negotiating with parties who don't normally do these types of deals and also explaining new models to a 10-president board that doesn't have anything close to expertise in this area.

I think all those waters have now been navigated and things should resolve soon.

Now, this, is a forward thinking post.
