CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

Things are most likely going to be quiet till after the 21st of this month.
Once no deal has been presented after the PAC Media Day has come and gone, the action could start.

The argument is simple. Do we take the money and stability (not exposure, come on) with the B12 and align with schools we don’t want to associate with now or in the future vs stay with schools we DO want to align today and tomorrow with but might stiff us down the road and leave us behind. The money will likely be the same in both places.
Not to get all Morpheus about it but those are the topics (money, exposure) that the B12 wants to side track our logic with and bait us. Both will be there in the P12. This is a battle of stability and peace of mind vs rolling the dice w/ schools that have aspirations. The same aspirations we have as well.

Well you know the P12 media days is going to be in about two weeks.

PAC should be celebrating what could be an incredible upcoming season with USC, Washington, Oregon and Utah all thinking they can take the conference.
But the elephant in the room will take over if no deal is in sight.

Need to have a deal that gets Oregon-Washington (or Prime vs everyone) on linear television. Streaming can be the new P12N.

As far as exposure in the Big 12......I think FOX sent the University of Colorado and Deion Sanders a message by giving us the Big Noon treatment the first two weeks. If you move to the Big 12, you will be showcased.

I think you might want to throw OSU's hat into that if that former Clemson QB produces for the Beavs.

USC & UCLA will be getting everyone's best shot. And there is Coach Prime in his first P12 media days.

If the P12 can get that media deal announced or something like that, they are going to blow the roof off the building where P12 media days will be at.

UH will do better this year because the visiting team will have far more fans than their previous conference teams.
While this is funny, I live here. They are actually hyped about the team now. They just hated being in the American. Most consider it minor league football.

I think yall underestimate how much people hate being G5s, especially those who at one time was P5. Even Rice alums would come out of the woodworks if they were P5 again.

UW President Ana Mari Cauce will no longer be chairing the Pac-12 Board of Directors. Most takes I'm seeing from U Dub folks seem to be that she's a good President but is out of her element with media deals and related things, so this is probably something that needed to happen.

But if it's true that it's going to be Wazzu's Schultz, I'm not loving that at all. His public comments about the new deal and the WSU budget were not a ringing endorsement for him.

They've supposedly been working on a media deal for over a year and they are just now making changes to the BOD. Cool cool

yeah, i admit, this isn't a good look. if the uw president wasn't any good at media deals, wtf was she doing being the chair for the last year?

and, now, we are having wsu lead the way?

i would feel a **** ton better if it were us or uo. wsu's goal is not necessarily aligned with our goal. they want to stay in a power conference as a top goal.

well, i guess we will see.... some day... maybe...

Good thing about Schulz is he is highly motivated to get a good deal, as without it Wazzu is hosed. Bad thing is I think he's kindof a dink, and his desperation shows.

Believe it or not, I really don't want the Pac to fall apart. It's terrible what the BIG and SEC are doing to CFB, and if I had my way there would be regional conferences with 10 teams (I love the round robin schedule, especially in basketball). But what's done is done, and ISU has been in that **** situation of not having a P5 landing spot enough times that I'm not sympathetic anymore, and if poaching the Pac helps the Big XII, so be it.

There have been enough arrogant Pac 12 (and others obviously) who have laughed at the Big XII throughout all this stuff, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me chuckle to see you guys floundering and the Big XII with some stability. Be honest: if the Big XII were taking this long on their media deal, many of you would be laughing their asses off and celebrating the fact that the ditched that conference. This year's media days might be more entertaining then last years.

Kindof too bad, since I think the Pac will be pretty good again, and this is going to be a huge distraction form the accomplishments of the coaches and players. Wonder where GK will go shopping this year?

i'd take the old big 8 back in a minute if that were possible.

first we let the ****ing texans into the big 8 and they ****ed us all over. then, we and nu and mizzery figure we don't want to be junior ****ing partners to texas and seek alternate arrangements. then, the ****ing pac ****s the bed over and over. then usc does us dirty and here we are.

THIS big 12 is not the same as the old big 8/12. it isn't even close.

maybe northwestern will get the death penalty. for some reason, that would somehow make me feel a bit better.

I'd like to see us go back to 10 team conferences as well. It would have been better if the NCAA managed the rights and did it on behalf of all conferences. That lack of centralization has created this steaming pile of ****.
