CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

I think so as well, mostly due to Nebraska rivalry and more similar culture, but for someone who has never really spent much time in the South, roadies to some of the SEC schools sounds fun.

I mostly enjoy the South, but it is not for everyone. It actually cracks me up thinking about the inevitable culture clash.

I think the B1G is legitimately a really good fit.

Between the SEC and B1G I would take the B easily.

Still though would love to see an exploration of creating a 3rd superconference taking the best of the PAC, B12, and ACC. Take 4-5 schools (based on quality of their program and their value from a media standpoint) from each.

This would provide a conference schedule of quality games and a nationwide league that would have high value from a TV contract view with potential for games in every timeslot.

Just as a starting point from the PAC you take CU, UW, UO, one of the Arizona Schools, and potentially Utah. B12 remnants give you Okie Lite, TCU, Kansas, and maybe Texas Tech or West Virginia. ACC contributes Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, Miami, and PItt or Duke.

This would give you multiple national brand programs, quality TV markets, and as a bonus a valuable basketball conference as well

SEC, but only because I already have a B1G team that I follow. I think the B1G would be a better for reasons mentioned above.

I actually think they'd like it. They kind of like Iowa as a rival, but I think most of their fans view CU as their main rival now, especially since they have also sucked for years.
That, and the fact that nobody moves from Nebraska to Iowa (because why bother?), but there’s a ****load of Nebraskans in Colorado. It gives them a feeling of moral superiority to show up in droves to watch their team get its ass handed to them. It’s like a badge of honor. “Remember that time we saw the huskers get humiliated in Boulder?” “Oh yeah, but nothing will compare to that time I saw the huskers get humiliated in Ireland”.

The real answer is whoever would take us, and "cultural fit" kinda ****ed us in our last conference move, but since this is theoretical, CU in the B1G feels 1000% more compatible than CU in the SEC.

I have talked with lots of Husker fans about the CU vs Iowa rivalry. I'd say about 85% say Iowa is more of a rival with Nebraska than CU is. There's nothing like hating on I_wa fans. Minnesota is also mentioned often.

The so called CU rivalry was fun, but it's not coming back any time soon. An occasional home and home series with CU is fun. But for Nebraska (probably CU too) the games don't do much for recruiting.

CU to the B1G is probably not a good idea for CU. CU is not a good cultural fit. Not sure USC and UCLA are either? If it wasn't for tv marketing and the size and scope of each institution they wouldn't be moving to a new conference. The fact is most schools in CU's situation would want to make the move to the B1G for the money. But that might bite them in the long run if the fit is wrong.

When you haven't beat a team in 13 years, I wouldn't call it a rivalry either, so this makes sense.

Colorado is a far better fit for the B1G than Nuh.

I mean, at least we meet the basic requirement of being an AAU member.
Academically, it isn’t really close, TBH, I don’t think either team is phenomenal fit, but Colorado is much better. Colorado is in an extremely peculiar position since most of its OOS student body is from CA and TX. This creates a strange dynamic fit that makes Colorado a misfit.

Yep. Our best fit would have been going to the Pac-10 with UT at the time the Big 12 was being formed or if it had been a Pac-14 with us going with UT, aTm and OU instead of us creating a Pac-12 with Utah.

Illinois (3.4%) is actually #2 on OOS enrollment behind CA (9.8%), then followed by TX (3.3%). Can't find the full list beyond the top 3, but it's 43% non resident total.

Florida isn’t surprising to me.

CU is a very expensive state school in terms of both tuition and cost of living. It makes sense that it would receive out-of-state students from the wealthiest pockets - California, Florida, Seattle area, Chicago and suburbs, New York City and northern New Jersey. If they added a few more slots, perhaps Massachusetts and Maryland would fall next in line.

Mass is right after Washington on that list. Florida just surprises me simply because I never met anyone from Florida during my time at CU.

Doesn't it somewhat make sense that the SEC, and I am talking about an expanded SEC that has schools like Kansas, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah would be a good way to try and get more students from throughout the country.
The SEC has some challenging parts of the country, but we are recruiting and promoting ourselves to those states, so we should play in those areas.
Also, recruiting players away from Georgia and Alabama makes them less strong.

Their priority, I think, is going to be ACC properties. That conference is the confederacy except they haven't snagged NC, VA, WV and AZ yet. And I think they want to dominate Florida by adding Miami, FSU or both.

You're Iowa's bitch, dude. Not their rival. They've taken 8 out of the last 10 games from you. Two, you're now trying to argue nationally televised games aren't good for recruiting?

You're special, Surveyor.
