CU players in the NFL

it would be nice to get an occasional update on which Buffs are on which rosters. Makes games more interesting, when there is a Buff on the field.

Didn't make the 53 but the Broncos brought Will Sherman back on the practice squad. As a veteran OL he has a decent chance of being called up if they have an injury. Meanwhile he's getting paid and still staying in football shape so if somebody else wants to sign him to their 53 he will be ready.

Does practice squad time count toward NFL pension time?
Unless it changed in the last contract no. Player needs to be active 4 games in a season to get credit for the year.

I'd guess that he has a pretty good chance to end the year on an active roster as guys get hurt

Nice to see him putting all of the skills he learned in Boulder to use.

Brady showing that playing smart as a TE gets you on the field. He has a great sense of how to slide against the zone to show his QB an open receiver. A small slide to the right was just enough to get open then solid run for TD. 4th string my ass. Noah Fant has all the talent but doesn’t understand the subtleties of playing TE. Sweet.

Who said Brady wouldn’t make it in the NFL? Ha

Noah Fant has never reached expectations.

Pretty sure though that Brady is on the active roster primarily for reasons other than receiving. He is a guy who gives everything he's got on every special team unlike a lot of guys who were stars in college and take being a high draft choice as saying they are something special.

That same thing reflects in their willingness to block. There is no glory in it but coaches know who takes it seriously because it makes a difference in team success.

Brady playing at TE2 this weekend, due to injury at TE1.

Just saying. 😁

He has earned his way there, not a surprise.

A big part of earning that position has been his willingness to be an asset on special teams, to be a blocker when called for. NFL decisions tend to be based on one question. Will he help us win? Not everyone can be a star.

If he does end up catching some balls great for him but that isn't the main reason he is on the team, being able to do that though helps.
