CU players in the NFL

Per an Ian Rapoport social media post from a few hours ago, Chidobe Awuzie is signing a 1 year deal with the Ravens. (Per him, it's a minimum deal for Baltimore as Tennessee still owes him $7.5 million for this season.)
Common theme but Chido needs to stay healthy. When healthy he is Harbaugh's type of player, tough and agressive. He's going to be on a team that can win some games, if he stays healthy very good chance he gets resigned after the season.

He has lasted longer and gone further than a lot of more talented guys.

Hard work means something as does a willingness to do whatever the coaches ask him to do. Block, play special teams, etc.
I think having a natural feel for and understanding of the game is underestimated. Brady understood the dynamics and leverage of what was happening during each play in ways a lot of players with higher physical skills never will. Makes a coach happy to see what he says show up on the field and see someone making the subtle smart football decisions.

It’s a huge part of what made Landman great. Interestingly, they say that’s part of what made Gronk so great. He was a football sponge. Tell him once, and he understood how to make it happen on the field forever.

Cam Ward is being heavily rumored to go to the Titans at #1 overall
The tea leaves say that this really might happen. Shedeur is more immediate NFL-ready than Cam right now, but Cam may have a higher potential ceiling. What the hell do I know?

The Giants now have Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Would they draft Shedeur there too? Seems less likely today than yesterday

Agreed. I think Shedeur will slide a bit in the first round. Raiders seem to be set be set with Geno.

Shilo needed to hit 4.4s or below to be drafted imo
In a lot of cases it's better to not be drafted than to be picked late in the draft.

I think though that somebody takes a shot on Shilo late. Silman-Craig is a better football player but will go undrafted.

CSC had slower times than our punter... He may be toast.

I thought Horn would run better.

Shilo is fast enough for the position, but it comes down to how he does on other things (read, recognize, react, use technique, have proper footwork, take the correct angle). Basically, that's acceptable speed for Safety but he doesn't have plus speed for recovery to cover mistakes. Lots of guys taken from Rd4 on are like Shilo - less than the complete package, nothing physically off the charts - and some end up being excellent players for a lot of years.

BJ Green's 4.59 is solid for his position. I thought he had a good chance to be invited to the Combine.

Almost although 4.77 is fast for a punter. ;)

There are plenty of safeties in the league who don't run 4.75. It will keep him from being drafted though. He will have options though in terms of where to sign and I would be surprised if he doesn't make at least a practice squad and more likely make a roster. The speed is a liability and he is a little undersized but he is a guy who makes plays.

CSC has great football instincts, leadership, and skills which transcend the measurables of a Pro Day or Combine. Just look at the last two overtime plays against Baylor. He made a great open field tackle against a good running QB at the 1, and then on the next play directed Travis at the last second to run over and line up at the exact spot to make a Heisman-moment play. (Anyone who is reading this but doesn't remember, find one of the many videos of this sequence.) He is a bit undersized and had a disappointing 40 time, but I hope that some team does its homework and signs him to a UDFA deal.
