Kind of a reversal from last week. What did Stafford run...85 plays?
Also, the O kind of shifts into a 'hold the lead' mode, instead of going all out and I think that effects everything, O and D.Defense seems to lack a killer instinct or something. For the second week in a row, we squeak out a victory-- but I'm left feeling like we were dominant for the majority of the game... It's odd. Way more good than bad, nonetheless-- we're 2-0!!
TBF, He may not have known buffs were 2-0 at that point.Joel Klatt not giving his own Buffs some love describing Utah as the toughest team left on their schedule!!! Come on Joel, the Buffs are 2-0.
Or MacIntyre with Oregon StExcellent clock management by KD and team. I know we were sweating at the end, but really they effectively milked 15 minutes of clock.
Imagine if Hawkins had done that against KU!
Slowly coming around on Noyer? That dude has been balling.I wont come around on Dorrell until this team can show a killer instinct, however I'm slowly coming around on Noyer.
Yeah, you could argue he plays it incredibly safe, but it worked in a way where they had to earn everything, we avoided mistakes and if our defense could catch, no one would really be questioning the results of this one. It's certainly better handled than Hawkins doing an end around to our WR and passing the ball instead of handing it to our elite RB, and better than MacIntyre going for it on 4th and 1 at the 50 and the defense giving huge chunks of yardage at a time. You should never lose a game where you can hand it to your half-back every time, burn clock, and play prevent D, and to be fair to Dorrell, that's working better than what Mac/Hawk were trying. Defense just has to capitalize on mistakes better when teams are forced to throw every down.I don't think you can whine about killer instinct much. They went up 3 scores and played a near perfect prevent defense to win. That 4th quarter was well designed and purposeful.
one does not slowly come around on Chef Noyardee, aka Noyer the Destroyer.Slowly coming around on Noyer? That dude has been balling.
Completely different offense than the first time. I think a lot of it has to do with the line.one does not slowly come around on Chef Noyardee, aka Noyer the Destroyer.
Tons of young guys got run tonight. Weird that it worked.I can't wait until we can argue that we didn't play the correct people.
Stanford O helped.I don't think you can whine about killer instinct much. They went up 3 scores and played a near perfect prevent defense to win. That 4th quarter was well designed and purposeful.
Tons. I felt like Rice and shenault were playing the entire 2d half. Lots ofsubbing at LB too.Tons of young guys got run tonight. Weird that it worked.
That's a good sign. This coaching stuff is not afraid of playing young players. Refreshing to see isn't it?Tons of young guys got run tonight. Weird that it worked.
