CU @ UCF - September 28 @ 1:30 PM MT Game Thread

To me it appears we're mocking rising waters during a storm surge.

And if I didn't know Silmon-Craig's nickname was The Shark, I doubt anybody from Florida does.

You know the deal from your line of work - optics matter. And optics is why that Twitter account exists in the first place.
I guess I didn’t feel like there was a reference to rising waters (after looking at the relationship to the shore). And I was trying to figure out if there were sharks coming inland into inhabited areas.
But…deleted.

And I didn’t realize he was doing a shark fin and grimacing. It looked like he was slapping his head and laughing at first glance.

But the thing is, in order to truly think this, you’d have to believe the CU social account would deliberately make light of a tragic natural disaster currently going on.

I’m guessing had it not been posted with the context that a bunch of people were mad online, you wouldn’t have thought twice about it.

Beilema has been a HC for 20 years at three different programs in the B1G and SEC and people are pointing to 2 years of above average QB play, one of which was with Russell Wilson transferring in as a Senior? BB was a sub .500 coach at Arkansas and was sub-.500 at Illinois through three seasons.

He typically has decent Offensive Lines but that hasn't really led to great QB play and, outside of the already successful program he took over at Wisconsin, it hasn't really led to winning football.

What are we even talking about?

I don't really know, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

We should all just sit in a dark closet our whole lives and never do or say anything.

Neely just said Stoyanovich is handling the kickoffs. CP must have forgot he was on the team before he told everyone Palazzo would handle kickoffs, earlier this week.
i listened back to the original CP quotes after the game and i think he implied that Palazzo *did* a valiant job. felt like there was room for movement. i wonder if they were hoping to RS stoyanovich to work on his consistency as a FG kicker and just did an open battle (or knew already) that showed that stoya would be best for kickoffs in this year.

sometimes the youngsters need a big break to get their chance. i'm now assuming that stoya will be the second coming of mason crosby, 99 rating in CFB 26 incoming.

I always thought ypa told you more about a QB than anything. CH had a ypa of 6.16 which is pretty weak. 7.0 always seemed to be the Mendoza line for CFB, IMO. Even Klatt, who I thought was adequate, dinked and dunked his way down the field at 6.8 . Tyler Hansen, who presumably played much the same O and with the same era of players went 6.5. CH is probably the lowest ypa of any QB outside of Bernard Jackson. Compare all that with the last great CU QB, Kordell who rang up a 8.2 ypa or Koy Detmer at 9.1 ypa, and I conclude CH was pretty subpar as a QB all the way around, he was throwing a whole bunch and got stats, but he was throwing a ton of little dinks and dunks. Add in a poor TD/INT ratio to boot. JMO.

Ypa is a wildly flawed stat.

What you want to look at is air yards per attempt. That'll tell you who is actually throwing downfield.

Ypa gives you credit for an 80 yard throw that was only five yards downfield, and your receiver did the rest. Air yards per attempt will tell you you threw it five yards.

Oh look, Michigan also had to delete a tweet because people got mad on the internet.

I think after this, the University of Miami should be forced to change their mascot to something more sensitive.
I mean CU’s tweet was a big nothing burger. But holy hell, Michigan??? How in the world could that have been offensive? They are playing Minnesota who is not even remotely close to the hurricane. God people are so soft.

I'm pretty positive it was Oregon who donated stuff. They were the next home game

I know that Fresno did because their plane was ready to fly here when the game was canceled. They decided to use the plane to send stuff to help instead. Oregon might have done it too, but I'll never forget that because it conflicted with my hatred of FSU from 2001.

Fresno State sent aid. Oregon sent branded gear.
