CU vs Utah 12/12 10:00 AM Fox BIG NOON SATURDAY - GAME THREAD

I hate ankle injuries. I’ve had terrible turf burns on my knees and arms, taken knees to the head (helmet) helmets to my elbows and chin...amongst a myriad of other dings and injuries while playing football...as well as Basketball and skateboarding (broke my leg and destroyed my ankle in one fell swoop once). Nothing made me feel more hopeless than an ankle sprain. Not being able to stand for 10 minutes made it worse.

Im hoping for a bad sprain with landman. Even then it’ll take weeks if they had him in a boot and cart. Most likely if it’s a sprain, he’s still out for 6 weeks...

In terms of him playing for us again this, not a chance. For his future, we need to all be praying it's not an achilles.

Seems like a rational response to 2 quarters.

I guess you missed the Arizona drives when Landman was on the bench. He is the leader of this team on and off the field.

That injury simply cannot happen - reminds me of Dinwiddie’s ACL injury against Washington which prematurely ended a very promising basketball season when we were ranked in the Top 25 just like now. Eerily similar - both non- contact injuries on bad playing surfaces.

Ok

All comes down to UW’s ability to play in the CCG. Oregon in Boulder if they are, I believe. If not, winner of Stanford and OSU in Boulder as Oregon would go to CCG. Of course, if SC loses later today, who the hell knows what happen
CU gained so much today among non followers of the P12 especially in the South.

Just got off a Zoom with some coach friends and the consensus is that Van Diest and Joe Davis would both be gtreat fits at CSU-Pueblo. Of course this same group has been saying this for 2-3 years.
Nah both are G5 level players. JVD would be fine at CSU. He’s just not a P5 level player at a position that is increasingly requiring really, really good athletes

Eh, true freshman in a year with no offseason. He’s getting reps, has a couple TDs, but is behind the second leading rusher in the country, per game (maybe not after today).
Not suggesting he's RB1, but he should at leats be getting strong consideration this late in the year for RB2.

This was week five though. It’s not really “late in the year” in a traditional sense that would make sense for guys adjusting to the game. I agree he should be RB2

Clayton's gotta be wondering why he came here.
I've advocated from the beginning the idea that he wasn't going to be OK with a limited # of carries and wait until he became the featured back. Has nothing to do with being homesick ala Carr, the flush backfield is going to thin out soon like it or not.

If we're a running team - you come out running the ball. 1st drive, 2nd drive, all the drives.

Chiv isn't and most likely won't ever be a good o coord. He's shown too many times he doesn't know how to do it.

Won't ride the hot back.

Won't do something until the D stops it.

Forces the ball to players who bitch the most

Gets cute when there is no call for it

Puts in players who have no business being on the field

I might reach a bit but had Dinwiddie not gone down that team could've reached the final 4 at the least the last 8...perfect analogy.

Not sure Chev makes the call of who is in there. I could be wrong.

It's amazing how one player's presence on the field can change the course of a game. I would find it hard to believe how any Buff follower wouldn't rate Nate as one of the top 3 LBs to ever play at CU.

Nate is a beast but top 3?

Williams, beikert,McGhee, brown, dizon, russell sykes etc...

Whoever does should be fired, on the spot.

I don't care but it is KD

There is 0 reason to ever put Joe Davis in, short of 3 other running backs being dead.

I'm not sure there is a reason to put JVD in even if all the other LB are dead.

It's a 6 game season. Ride your stars.
