P&L wouldn’t perform with y’all’s budgeting lol
Tell me how the P&L would perform without Prime as Head Coach. I'll hang up and listen.P&L wouldn’t perform with y’all’s budgeting lol
I think there’s a range of contract values Prime would accept that are short of the $20MM/yr or “highest paid coach in the country” benchmarksTell me how the P&L would perform without Prime as Head Coach. I'll hang up and listen.
Especially when you look at the current landscape of declining enrollment, having a coach that makes the entire university attractive is a huge plus.Revenue increases to the AD and to the university at-large more than justify the salary level being discussed.
Highest paid coach in the country would be right at about $13m/year (Kirby), not $20m, so let's have an honest discussion here (I know that's rare on AllBuffs). And of course Prime hasn't said anything like that, and I more or less agree with what you're saying. I'm just saying that the idea of making Prime the highest paid coach in CFB is not really that crazy based on the impact he has already had and will continue to have on this University.I think there’s a range of contract values Prime would accept that are short of the $20MM/yr or “highest paid coach in the country” benchmarks
Has he said he’ll leave if he isn’t the highest paid coach in the country? I missed that if so
Who was the dip**** throwing the 20MM number around?Highest paid coach in the country would be right at about $13m/year (Kirby), not $20m, so let's have an honest discussion here (I know that's rare on AllBuffs). If we're being honest, most big time CFB coaches are very much underpaid relative to the value they bring their University. Prime is no exception to that, in fact, he's probably the poster child for it. Prime is worth far more to CU than Kirby is to Georgia.
I don't think it's really about the actual money, but rather what the money says to the CFB world (media, players, conferences, schools, recruits, transfers, etc).I don’t think he wants to be the highest paid coach, I do think he wants the highest paid coaching staff.
Lol 4BTDs has been throwing around ridiculous numbers for weeks now. I agree with many of his concepts, but his specific numbers are based in fantasy landWho was the dip**** throwing the 20MM number around?
lol I knew I didn’t pull that number out of my ass. Goddamnit 4BTDsLol 4BTDs has been throwing around ridiculous numbers for weeks now. I agree with many of his concepts, but his specific numbers are based in fantasy land
21 million to be exact.Lol 4BTDs has been throwing around ridiculous numbers for weeks now. I agree with many of his concepts, but his specific numbers are based in fantasy land
I'm not sure what other sweeteners there are in the compensation package, but I suspect that even the things we know about such as CU licensing and approvals for Coach Prime to have his own apparel company, media company and Amazon show are not the norm in coach contracts. If there are other things like he had at Jackson State (like getting a cut of ticket and other revenue), I would argue that a $10M base would easily make his the richest deal in the sport. So if the rumors of a $10m/year contract are accurate, I don't think it's a huge stretch to see incentives or other stipulations added to his contract that would/could add an extra $1-$2m. Here is a list of highest paid coaches from the 2024 season.

Plus, the $21 Million is his number, so you could use the terms "Up to $21 Million"
F you all, I am a dreamer and believer
This is what I imagine 4BTDs looks like when I see his magical numbers.
Go visit 247 and read some of those idots talk about how over $10m/year is way too much for what he's actually done on the field. Some serious ratards over there.I love that Prime wants all promises in writing, including more NIL, facilities, assistant pool, etc. Force the school’s hand.
It still amazes me that some of y’all have gotten so spoiled with Prime that you don’t realize the unique value he has for Colorado.
Neely specifically is saying that the extension is not good enough yet, but Prime wants to sign it sooo badly if it was right.I love that Prime wants all promises in writing, including more NIL, facilities, assistant pool, etc. Force the school’s hand.
