Do you guys mind if I join ya'll as a Buffs fan?

lol, thanks Bufffan68 I appreciate the welcome. It is just a shame that things started to deteriorate after Mac left town and that none of the coaches since have been able to get CU back to where they were in the late 80's and early to mid 90's. I know Barnett had 2001, and back then I was really hoping that he would be able to bring CU all the way back, but obviously his tenure ended poorly, and since then....nothing much has happened. Like I said, I hated the Pac-12 move. I feel that both CU and ****braska belong in the Big XII....****braska being in the Big 10 has been a total joke from the beginning. I laughed my ass off when the Big 10 added Rutgers, Maryland and ****braska....I was like WTF?!!! lol Aside from Ohio State, that entire conference has become a total joke.
It really was coaching hires. Some people want to make excuses why we haven't been successful, but if coaches can be successful at Indiana, Iowa State and Minnesota...no reason other than bad hires. I hope HCDK is legit...time will tell and my expectations are looooowwwwww......

Bufffan68, I couldn't agree with you more. I can't remember the last time the Buffs hired someone who actually inspired confidence that he would be the guy to turn things around/get back to the level Mac had the Buffs at when he abruptly left after the 1994 season. Every single one of them seems like it was a lackluster hire that I had low expectations for, and which failed to even live up to those expectations, lol. Honestly, I guess Neuheisel and Hawkins were the only two of the bunch who I thought had a decent shot at turning out to be good to great coaches. Every other coaching hire has just been a total "meh/wtf?!" hire in my opinion.

Honestly, Bufffan68, I realize it is just a pipe dream since KD was just hired and isn't going anywhere anytime soon, but I would love for the Buffs to make a run at Hugh Freeze. What he has done at Liberty, of all places, has been unbelievable. His coaching acumen, recruiting and offensive playcalling have never been questioned. He is rehabbing is reputation right now, and so long as his next employer tells him to lay off of the escorts and not to get caught cheating again, I think they will get a great coach. He might not consider a Pac-12 school, however, since all of his roots are basically in SEC country and there are a few SEC schools who are going to make a run at him at the end of the season.

Damn. An outsider wants to join our clan and you guys are complete assholes to him?

Show some damn respect.

Now, newbie, get me a damn real drink and a sammich. You bring back an IPA for me, I’m gonna get @Liver to kick your ass.

I’m not really a fighter.

He said Michigan earlier in the thread. I'm more interested in his claim to be live in "the NYC area." Reeks of bridge an tunellness.
Ha! That is like when I was in Berlin and was asked by a local where I live (it was NJ at the time) and I answered NYC area, thinking they would not know NJ. The guy started grilling me as to where and I said NJ and he said all the New Yorkers make fun of NJ and he knew all about it because he watched how I met your mother. That was a fun conversation.

Everything I need to know about America (and Canada, actually) I learned from watching that show. Seriously.

Neuheisel was a weird one...the AD bypassed both coordinators (and Mac disciples) and elevated a position coach to HC. All of Neu-weasel's success came with Mac's players and ****...a dumbass like me could've coached that talent to a bowl game. LOL.

Barnett was a good hire and we were robbed, but he seemed to lose gas after Dorrell hired away Bienemy and Embree to UCLA.

Hawkins...or as he has been called on this site as "he who will not be named"...some will say he was an obvious and "sexy" choice, but I think a competent AD would've seen through him. Let's not play the very depressing game of "what if" we hired Peterson instead.

Embree was just sad...don't completely blame Bohn for that one as I heard his hands were tied financially and politically getting pressure to hire an alum. The QB sneak on 1st down is regrettable Buff lore.

Considering we were the worst P5 program in the country, MMac was a decent hire. He did a decent job making us not ****ty and gave us an amazing year in '16 with The Rise...but as more of a turnaround coach he was out of his depth as far as building a foundation for greatness. Tough to blame RG for the extension...but again "what if"...

Tucker looked like a good hire...good recruiting class and amazing pedigree. But he went 5-7 with a fairly talented team in a weak division. His fairly disastrous start at MSU has me wondering if he's any good. I'm guessing he's a great recruiter and will eventually get enough talent in to win...but as a coach...meh.

Who knows about Dorrell...great first game and maybe being 11th on RG's top 10 candidate list is motivating to him.

Thus ends my synopsis of Buff futility...some good years peppered in there...only one in the last 15 though.

Now it's time go sell some shoes and avoid having sex with Peg.

LaserDeathHawk, in response to your questions: I attended the University of Michigan Law School, and am currently an IP Attorney. I currently live in the NYC area. For the most part, no, I do not "like" threads about uniforms, ALTHOUGH, as evidenced by my initial post, I most certainly CAN AND DO appreciate the aesthetics of uniform colour combinations.
Ok dibs on this guys for the gangbang!

Welcome Koy ;)

I apologize. I didn't mean to mislead anyone and I certainly wasn't trying to "hide" anything. If live in Hoboken, NJ. It is literally right across the river from NYC where I work, or where I used to work before the office shut down due to the pandemic. As anyone in the area knows, certain cities in the northeastern portion of NJ (such as West New York, or Weehawken or Hoboken or Fort Lee, etc.) are considered "bedroom communities or suburbs of Manhattan" since the vast majority of people who live in them work in NYC and since they are literally right across the river from the city. but if the phrase "NYC area" offended or annoyed you for some reason, BuffsNYC or anyone else for that matter, I apologize. That certainly wasn't my intent. and in response to the previous poster's question, the "UM" in question referred to Michigan. I attended the University of Michigan Law School.

Bufffan68, yeah I neglected to mention Barnett in my post. He was a good hire and I thought that he would possibly bring the Buffs back to perennial top 10-15 status after 2001, but he just seemed to peak that year and the slowly lose momentum afterward. I actually had high hopes for Neuheisel...granted I was only in high school at the time of his hire after Mac abruptly left, but I honestly was sold on him as the "next big thing" in coaching, as young, energetic offensive genius who was going to kind of be a Spurrier type of coach for the Buffs. I was very disappointed in how things started to slip under his regime once Mac's players were no longer playing. His time at UW proved that he can win with another coach's players, but he is incapable of actually building anything himself. I agree regarding what you said about the MMac hire as well. It is a shame that 2016 didn't really lead to anything. A flash in the pan type of season.

Hoboken is my second favorite NJ town, right after Weehawken.

My kid "goes" to school at Stevens (only freshmen allowed on campus and in person)- if you see him, do me a favor and smack him upside his head for me if you see him. Tall kid, with out of control hair and plays volleyball at the pier since Stevens won't let the team on campus to train. Please smack him - he needs it.

And in the meantime, WELCOME and get down here to the Tidewater area so you can get me a Texas Philly Cheese from Texas Sam's on Colley Ave. Norfolk.

I'm torn between the best ways to join Allbuffs...

Quietly join in by lurking for a while, feeling the room, and slowly start adding to the conversation until you are a part of the daily back and forth.

OR

Come in guns a blazin' with hot takes and call outs, telling anyone who gets in your face to **** off.

I mean, I know which one I would prefer to witness.

Edit: I don't understand the friendly request to join thing though. That's weird. Plus everyone's going to treat you like **** anyway.
