Games this weekend 12/1-12/2

Maybe shouldn't have gone so hard at them with the "we kicked the dog out of them" comment. ;)

Such a strange balancing act. I am convinced that attitude was needed to beat Bama. Auburn went imposed its will in the Iron Bowl and knew they were the better team (seriously, that rarely happens).

But yeah, it clearly fired up Georgia in a rematch scenario.

if ohio state curb stomps wisconsin later, this will make for a VERY interesting decision tomorrow

I was convinced that with an Ohio State win that Bama would get the last spot but a big win by OSU combined with Auburn losing suddenly makes this decision much more compelling for sure.

Alabama gets in before OSU this season, at least they should.
On reputation? Problem for Alabama is that they didn't really play much of a schedule and, mostly because of injury, they're not the dominant team they looked like the first half of the season. I don't think they're all that special right now.

Danielson really does have a hard-on for Alabama. He's talking them up already.

Ohio state can **** off. They got hammered twice by oklahoma and iowa. Wisconsin needs to end any speculation.

Balance does not equal tempo. Your first post talked about the Auburn offense not being designed to score points quickly. Bizarre.

They have run at a fast pace but are not designed to be a quick strike offense. Much of what they have done is based on the defense having to respect the run and on the short to intermediate passing game. They are not designed to take multiple deep drops and force the ball downfield.

My post simply stated, and I stand by it that the score and clock meant that Georgia could then orient their defense to stop those passes and make it much harder for Auburn to succeed, it has played out that way.

As it stands right now Bama has more top 25 wins than Ohio State.

Bama's schedule is at least as soft as Wisconsin's

Yeah. That was bad. It's why I'm on USC instead of tOSU. Losing a close one on the road to a Top 25 WSU on a short week is better than getting blown out at Iowa. By a country mile. And the other losses were pretty similar - smashed at Notre Dame and smashed at home by Oklahoma.

From there, I prefer a conference champion. I didn't agree with last season, but at least it was a case of taking a non-champion over a champion from the same conference due to unbalanced schedules and a weird tiebreaker resulting in the wrong representative.

USC is not in the same class as the teams going to the playoffs. They have too many holes, especially OL and WR, and they would get completely outcoached.

I think you are trying to imply Auburn just methodically moves down the field. In general, Auburn moves at a pretty fast pace and will do a little bit of everything in the passing game (top ten in YPA).

The problems today had a lot to do with a gimpy Kerryon Johnson and an inability to adjust to Georgia blitzing.

They'd have the best QB. Or at least match up in the case of Oklahoma. And they've got a much better defense than Oklahoma. Everyone's flawed this season.

I am pulling hard for UW tonight and for Alabama, OSU, and USC to be watching the playoffs on TV. I want the Pac-12 in the playoffs, I just don’t believe in USC having seen most of their games this season.

Not arguing about Auburns pace.

Over the course of the season the had their share or more of long, quick hitting scores as well.

Once they got down by a couple scores though they were in trouble. Over the season their big plays were facilitated and set up by their running game and short passing game. They are not, healthy or not, a team that is going to go out and force big plays, force the ball down the field.

As long as they are ahead or close the big play is a threat because the defense has to play at the LOS. Once the clock and scoreboard were against them Georgia didn't care if they were getting 4-7 yards per play, they attacked on defense to stop the 20+ yard stuff, and did.

That would be simplest. I'm thinking less about the Pac, though, and more about controversy pushing us to an 8 team playoff more quickly. I suppose leaving out both the B1G and P12 by taking Bama over USC & tOSU would be the path for that, though.

Which game gets priority and gets put on the TV and which game gets demoted to the iPad?

Anyone else other than me just realize that two of the four announcers in these two prime-time championship games are Buffs? Something to be proud of IMO.

I think Clemson-Miami is the better, more entertaining game. I think Wisconsin-tOSU is much more interesting for CFB fallout potential. Pick your flavor.
