Heading to the game today mostly to see the Heisman stuff. Taking my two young boys. Anyone know how strict CU is on outside food? Trying to bring them some snacky stuff

Just don’t make it obvious and you’re fine.
Yep. Shove that Ziplock of Cheerios down your pants and no problem. To be clear - the front of your pants - you don't want security to think you shat yourself.

CU Events Center, Boulder, Colo.
Tip: 1:01 p.m. MT
Watch: ESPN+ (Mark Johnson, Scott Wilke) https://buffs.me/49Ogunk
Radio: KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM (Jerry Schemmel)
Listen Online: Sirius XM 390, SXM App 980

THE BUFFALOES: Colorado is 8-2 overall and winners of its last three following an 81-70 win over South Dakota State on Dec. 13. The Buffaloes improved to 7-0 at the CU Events Center this season, have won their last 10 home games dating back to last year and have won 23 of 24 since the beginning of the 2023-24 season.

Away from the friendly confines, Colorado placed sixth at the 2024 Maui Invitational. A thrilling 73-72 win over then-No. 2/2 ranked UConn on the tournament's second day (Nov. 26) highlighted the trip for the Buffaloes who eventually fell to No. 5/5 Iowa State 99-71 in the consolation final (fifth place game) on Nov. 27 to round out the event with a 1-2 record. The game against Iowa State counted as a nonconference game and the two long-time rivals are set for a rematch in the Big 12 Conference opener in Boulder on Dec. 30.

Colorado is averaging 76.5 points per game, shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from 3-point range. Colorado's 3-point percentage ranks 28th in the nation and third in the Big 12.

Defensively, Colorado is allowing 69.7 points per game while opponents are shooting 41.4 percent.

The Buffaloes have had a flair for the dramatic this season. Colorado has had to overcome double-figure deficits in three wins including a rally from 11-down in the win over Pacific. The Buffaloes erased a 17-point deficit in the opener over Eastern Washington (details on page 6).

Colorado is 3-2 this season when trailing at the half, compared to the 2024 NCAA Tournament team that won just two of 10 contests in that situation. The Buffaloes are 3-0 in games decided by 10 points or less.

At home the Buffaloes are averaging 80.7 points per game while shooting 49.0 percent from the floor and 38.5 percent from 3-point range. Colorado is holding its home opponents to 64.9 points on 37.0 percent shooting while enjoying a plus-10 advantage on the boards.

GRAND GRADS: As anticipated, Colorado's three graduate transfers, spanning all levels of collegiate basketball, have made immediate impacts for the Buffaloes.
...

ABOUT THE KNIGHTS: Bellarmine, out of the Atlantic Sun Conference, is 3-9 overall and has lost two-straight and four of its last five. The Knights are coming off a 92-55 setback at Wyoming on Dec. 19. Bellarmine has just one win against an NCAA Division I opponent, defeating Bowling Green at home, 80-68, on Nov. 23. The Knights average 74.3 points and are the top shooting team in the ASUN both overall (.472) and from 3-point range (.366). Defensively, Bellarmine allows 79.8 points while opponents shoot 48 percent from the field and nearly 40 percent from 3-point range.

Junior guard Ben Johnson averages 13.2 points and has a team-best 30 3-point field goals. Junior guard Billy Smith averages 12.8 points and leads the team in assists (29) and is second in 3-point field goals (29). Junior forward Curt Hopf is Bellarmine's top rebounder at 5.1 per contest.

THE SERIES: This will be the first meeting between Colorado and Bellarmine. The Buffaloes are 9-1 all-time against schools that currently make up the Atlantic Sun Conference, the last game an 84-60 Colorado win over North Alabama on Dec. 15, 2022.

It's a little disappointing that neither CUBuffs.com nor Buffzone have anything about TH and the events today at the keg, on their main internet page today. Buffzone mentions it in their "notes", following their game article. Thanking TH and the team before they leave for the bowl, should be a packed house. Weak publicity.

FWIW: KOA will start broadcasting 1/2 hour before tipoff.

KOA noted Shedeur and Travis both on court, wearing BB warm-ups, dunking, shooting. wish I was there. (fwiw: A Walker played on the same HS team as Hammond)

The pregame today was allsome !!!

Cu Boulder Go Buffs GIF by CU Boulder Alumni Association

The line for the Heisman was insane. We skipped and went for food/drinks and took a semi close up. It was at least an hour long all game and went from the concourse down through the IPF
It was a cluster. We got sent down, then told to turn around because it was done for the day (at halftime) then sent back down, told the line was over and then put back in line by someone where we waited for a long time. I too am surprised that Argus had no idea what they were doing.

I expected the Big 12 to be better and didn't think there was any way that our Buffs could compete with a team like UConn, so maybe. Tad's teams always do well at home. It's definitely plausible to get 7 or 8 conference wins.
Big 12 seems vulnerable and no elite teams like years past outside of ISU. But KU, Baylor and even Houston show vulnerability.

I still think we will be tough to beat at home. Crazy to think if we go 7-3 at home and 1-9 on the road we will be on the bubble and I think that’s more than doable.

Even our ****ty pre-Tad teams were able to pull off upsets at home. It’s hard to play in Boulder.

Buffaloes Roll Past Bellarmine In Final Nonconference Tuneup

By: Neill Woelk, Contributing Editor

BOULDER —
Colorado took care of business Saturday at the CU Events Center as the Buffaloes rolled past Bellarmine, 79-55, in their final tuneup before Big 12 play.

Tad Boyle's Buffs improved to 9-2 with their fourth straight win while the overmatched Knights dropped to 3-10.

Colorado used a 25-4 run in the first half to cruise to a 45-16 edge at the break and the Knights never threatened to make it a game after halftime.

CU led by as much as 37 early in the second half but the Buffaloes' defense let up down the stretch, allowing the Knights to outscore Colorado 39-34 in the final 20 minutes.

The Buffs put three players in double figures, led by a career-high 15 points from sophomore forward Assane Diop on 7-for-11 shooting. Sophomore guard RJ Smith had 11 points and a team-high five rebounds while senior point guard Julian Hammond III had 10 points, five assists and four rebounds.

Dezmond McKinney led Bellarmine with 12 points.

Colorado shot 29-for-62 (47 percent) from the floor while the Knights were 21-for-53 (39.6 percent). CU also had a 38-30 edge on the boards, making the Buffs 95-6 in the Boyle era when hitting the "gold standard" of holding a team to 40 percent or less shooting and collecting at least a plus-8 rebound edge.

But despite the lopsided win, Boyle wasn't pleased with CU's second-half effort. Bellarmine outscored Colorado in the second half by five points while shooting almost 62 percent from the floor (16-for-26, including 6-for-12 from 3-point range).

"I was really, really disappointed in the second half," said Boyle, whose Buffs open Big 12 play on Dec. 30 at home against No. 3 Iowa State. "I thought we kind of mailed it in at halftime, and that was a challenge I gave to our team — don't play the scoreboard, play the possession — and we didn't do that at all … (The Knights) scored more points in the first eight minutes of the second half than they did the whole first half. That means our defense really took a step backwards and for us to be successful in the league we're going to play in starting December 30, that ain't good enough. You have to play for 40 minutes, not 20."
...

Boyle clearly liked what he saw from his squad in the first half, particularly on the defensive end.

"It's got to be that way for 40 minutes," he said. "Defense does not have possessions off, it doesn't have games off, doesn't have nights off. We don't understand that. We think, 'Oh, well, we were up by 29, game's over.' Well, the game's not over. They beat us. They scored 39 in the second half, and beat us."

Colorado built its lead to as much as 37 early in the second half before the Knights found their shooting eye and managed to cut the deficit into the 20s.

Boyle emptied his bench with just more than three minutes to play, giving several walk-ons a chance for court time down the stretch.

DECISIVE MOMENT: Colorado put this one away with a 15-0 run midway through the first half, turning a narrow 14-10 lead into a 29-10 cushion and the Knights never came close to cutting the deficit to single digits again.

WHAT IT MEANS: Colorado is now 136-41 in non-conference games in the Boyle era, including 104-8 in home non-conference games.

NEXT UP: The Buffs get a short holiday break before returning to action on Monday, Dec. 30, when they open Big 12 play with a 7 p.m. home game against Iowa State (CBSSN).

Just don’t make it obvious and you’re fine.

We often bring in food with us, never had a problem. The old folks behind us would bring their whole dinner in ziplock bags years ago. One thing I noted, it depends on who you are (and what entrance you go into). College kid probably is gonna have issues, 35 year old with a couple kids, you could bring a full steak dinner, and probably a bottle of wine without question.

This team is not winning 7 games at home
Okay even if we go 5-5 at home I think this team is capable of 3 road wins.

Our road schedule is a lot easier than home. TCU, Okie State, Utah, Kansas State, and Texas Tech are all winnable road games.
I think there’s a realistic path to 8 conference wins which puts us on the bubble.

watching the highlights, looked like Bellarmine was a half foot shorter than us and slower at every position. I want to see Diop get those buckets against B12 competition, if he can that's a really good sign for our tourney hopes
