Men's bball (9-13 overall; 0-11 in the Big 12) should have a fun tough challenge coming up to get their 1st Big 12 win of the season as they face off against 2 ranked teams over the next week. 1st off they face off this Saturday afternoon against the highest ranked conference team, the #5 Houston (UH) Cougars (18-4, 10-1). Then, they head off to Lawrence for a mid-week matchup Tuesday night with the #16/17 Kansas (KU) Jayhawks (16-6, 7-4).

In the latest NET rankings (through games played 2/5/25; available at https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings), CU is at #109, UH #3 and KU #8.

Saturday's game is scheduled to be available on an ESPN+ stream, while Tuesday's game is slotted for either ESPN or ESPN2. Then, Wednesday's game is back to the usual ESPN+. (Further info and links for media options available near the bottom of this post.)

Go Buffs!!!

I know that many aren't fans of "marketing the opponents", and I get that, but honestly that's one of the main reasons I still have interest in attending games this season. The XII has ~7 teams that are bubble teams or better, and at least two that I believe have a good chance of getting to the S16.

and it looks like Northern Co is the favorite to win the Big Sky.

This is why we're going tomorrow. We want to see Houston in action live. I've already come to terms with the d!ck punch it's going to be, so win/win.

Until this year, I always thought our team had a chance to beat any team. Over the years I have seen some great wins. Sadly, I don't see that happening this year.

I honestly think the Buffs match up decently today. Not anywhere enough to win, but enough not to get embarrassed. Tad needs to be very smart with his lineup combinations. Buffs lose by 10-12.
I adjusted my previous spread because Sharp is out today for the Cougars.

Anyone want my ticket for today? free for buffs fans. Thought I'd make this one, but turns out not.

Any team with half the any decent guards completely wreck Hammond. Again, a PG in the portal would’ve been nice.

They're playing hard and have valued the ball. Fun game so far. Nice recovery from the 0-9 start.

I’ll scream this from the top of Flagstaff: FIRE THE FVXKING S&C STAFF. We are the weakest and softest team in the conference every year.

The game of basketball is hard when you can't get dribble penetration and you also can't match the other team's front court physicality to get post ups or rebounds.

Down 6 and heading to the line. Playing great, considering the major disadvantages this team is having to overcome.

Jak couldn’t make one pre game warm up shot. Not one. Told my daughter he’s done already today. Oof.
