It's Utah week for the Buffs, as they play their "travel partner" twice, once away and once at the Keg.

"
BOULDER – When Alexis Robinson tore her left ACL late last March in practice while the Buffs were preparing for the second round of the WNIT, some people assumed she may miss the entire 2017-18 season. But she has not missed a minute of game action due to her knee this entire season and returned to practice in early October.

"She had great mental toughness," head coach JR Payne said. "Her sister had just gone through it the year before so she watched her sister go through it. I think she had in her mind that this is just going to be a minor bump in the road and, 'I'm going to attack my rehab, I'm not going to cry about it, I'm just going to suck it up and conquer it.' She put on a lot of good weight in the weight room and she got a lot stronger [while she was off the court]."

THIS WEEK
CU will play Utah twice this week. The Buffs travel to Salt Lake City for the first matchup at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams then head to Boulder for a rematch on Sunday at noon at the Coors Events Center. Both games will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.

SCOUTING UTAH
The Utes are much improved after going 16-15 last year, sitting at 14-7 overall so far, including 5-5 in the Pac-12, already matching last season's total for conference wins.

Two newcomers have been a huge spark for Utah, led by Hawai'I transfer Megan Huff and freshman Tori Williams. Huff is a 6-3 forward and leads the team in scoring (13.9) and rebounding (8.0), while shooting 49.1 percent. Williams is a 5-9 guard, averaging 8.7 points in her first year of collegiate action.

6-foot wing Daneesha Provo has improved significantly from her sophomore season a year ago, averaging 13.3 points and 3.4 rebounds, while connecting at 43.2 percent from 3-point range. She averaged just 3.5 points in 12.5 minutes per game last season.

Emily Potter has returned to provide stability in the post for Utah. The 6-6 senior averages 11.6 points and 6.7 rebounds, shooting 50 percent. Potter and Provo are two of three Canadians on the Utes roster.

**** off to a good start over the Buffs. And the place looks dead...I guess it's easier for those Ute fans to watch the game online along with the other thing that is quite popular in that state at the same time.

Shots aren't falling for the Buffs in this one...going to be a long night if this continues.

4:57 in the 1Q and zero points for the Buffs...one would have thought that the men's cold shooting spells were horrid and the women take it up to a new level of cold shooting.

Finally with 4:20 left in the 1Q the Buffs HIT a free throw shot!

Buffs have hit three straight threes...surely warming up.

CU down 20-14 at the end of the 1Q...based on how they started the game, it's a miracle they are only down six points.

So it seems we are missing 2 of our 3 centers. Are they still saying personal reasons for Bunn? Curtis hurt?

Buffs make zero baskets in the last 3-4 minutes of the 2Q and are down 33-27 at the half.

Buffs need to not give up the easy layups and also make more of those such layups...Tad would have been admitted into the psych ward of the local hospital wearing a straitjacket if that was the men playing like that.

Wow. Now let's have a good start to second quarter. How many layups did we miss that quarter?

Given the conditioning of some of the women, they ought to run gassers for each layup missed. That'll teach 'em!

Let's see if the Buffs can pull this one out...CU trailed 16-0 before scoring their first point in the 1Q.

I just want a win over ****.

Another missed layup that leads to two Ute points. Hopefully the coach's husband reminds her that it's not worth pulling out hair over this.

Buffs win!

**** can't feel too great about getting out to a 16-0 lead and then lose the game!

After being down 16 points, the Buffs pulled this one out of nowhere and beat Utah 69-65

Curtis still on concussion protocol. Radio just said Bunn didn't make the trip
