Option A - enhancements to the interiors of Folsom & CEC, with improved concessions, bathrooms, sound systems, chair back seating, etc.

Option B - development of the football practice fields on Boulder Creek and Kittredge into field sports stadiums for Soccer & Lacrosse that would also add a bunch to the tailgating options for football.

I normally sit in the lower section at Folsom with concrete under the bench seats. Yesterday I sat in the upper section with metal under the bench seats. All I can say is, holy sh!t. It’s literally rotting away. At some point it’s going to become a safety concern.

I actually lean Creek & Kitt because I think that there's something really important there to position CU athletics long-term with what those projects would mean to the campus layout & an overall commitment to sports. Would make a big difference with parking & tailgating for the revenue sports.

I’d have to hear the full scope of plan B to even consider it before substantial Folsom upgrades. Most of Folsom is about 20 years overdue for upgrades.

Folsom has some issues that need to get taken care of but I have mentioned here before that I would love to see us build a stadium for soccer and Lacrosse that would be a signature facility, one that is the clear choice for conference and regional tournaments.

As a part of this it could (should) include a campus visitors/welcome center that helps connect the school to visitors both athletically and academically.

Balch fixeruper. Folsom restroom renovation.
Flatiron Club & pressbox overhaul. WiFi/data upgrade. West side seatbacks between 40s.
CEC interior refresh.
Track locker rooms by track upgrade & stands
Lacross stands
South campus changing area with indoor plumbing
Aquatic & diving center.
Monorail to Baseball/softball complex

Folsom needs a lot of work. There are quite a few issues that are not just cosmetic. The concrete in the lower bowl needs to be replaced, as other have mentioned the metal deck used for the addition on the east side is starting to rust out, and Balch is a structural liability. The field level at should be widened. Allowing CU to host soccer and lacrosse events, while also improving player safety. The sound system needs to be upgraded. The seats need to be upgraded/replaced. The press box / broadcast facilities are an embarrassment. The restrooms need to be renovated.

Any and all facility upgrades should begin with the only money maker on campus.

Agree 100% on the field width issue. There is much that needs to be done with the overall structural challenges but it would behoove CU to make the stadium more friendly to multi-sport use while, as you stated, improving player safety.

I don't see widening being in the works until other considerations have been addressed, as it would entail significant work to raise the field level and everything that goes with it.

Don't need to raise the field level. Need to pull out about 3 rows of seats, that should be it.

True, but would the concrete not just crumble when you took that front part off, lol? Maybe do it as a part of a bigger rebuild of the lower bowl.

A: Fix the infrastructure to compliment the Champions Center development. This should include all seating, press boxes, sound systems and wrap around scoreboards, concessions and restroom upgrades.
B. CEC seating, concessions upgrades
then...
Enhance sports stadiums and tailgating experience.

Having a great tailgating experience, only to walk into rusted out seating and a lack of state of the art game experience would be a bummer man. White Russian's for everyone.

You would need to build a new retaining wall for sure. It should be part of a larger project that replaces all the concrete of the lower bowl anyway. While it is kind of cool that the concrete of the lower bowl has largely been there since Folsom opened, it is getting to be beyond repair.
