Karl Dorrell officially named Colorado HC

Tom Fornelli was just on ESPNU radio and said his path would be EB or interim. Talked about Harsin, McElwain, Butch Jones, and Derick Mason too.

For what it's worth he thought MSU should have taken a year with an interim after Fickell said no. It has nothing to do with Tucker and everything to do with the monstrous bet they had to make to get him. If it doesn't work out they are screwed because of the money they spent to get him.
MSU got worked by the biggies this year in the B10....bad. the path to success a much easier one in the Pac 12...dont see this ending well for MT except he'll have alot of bank..

Please take a step back from this ledge and ask yourself whether any other P5 program in the nation would consider making that move for itself.
It’s a fair point. But the PAC12 resource problem is getting worse at an accelerating rate. We are gonna be forced to think outside the box. Kinda like Arizona state did.

Even the rumored candidates are mostly meh

I think it would be wise to conduct a thorough and nationwide search. We need to avoid the temptation to hire the anti-tucker. We just got burned, true. That’s the nature of this business. **** happens. MSU just threw obscene money at a guy with one year HC with a losing record.

One thing is for certain: RG is going to earn his paycheck with this.

Until RG bumps up the salary to keep our HC protected from poaching, to me the next coach is largely irrelevant...hire a bad ass and he will leave for more money...hire what we can afford, and we are basement dwellers. Maybe we can be Kansas...a killer MBB program...we already have a **** football program!

This will not get better with California laws around paying student athletes. The PAC 12 fits in well from an academic and culture prospective but compared to other conferences much is lacking.

We're super ****ed. MSU just paid $5+ million for a one season coach with a losing record. Thats insane. Even if we get up to $3.5, who are we getting for that in this market at this time?

We’re clearly cash poor. It will be an assistant or a retread who will take a pay cut
