Ladies and gentlemen, the Prime effect

Because he's now the talk of the sports world as we lead up to the CFP Semi-Finals and NFL Playoffs.
So much that happens is motivated to increase and maintain attention. It's impossible to read anything into the fact he hasn't signed an extension or squashed speculation beyond the fact that the noise currently serves his interests and he won't announce anything until the noise generated by that announcement would better serve his interests.

Klatt on 104.3 said Prime has a really good offer on the table from CU, and no idea why it hasn't been signed.

*sigh* ... why would you even throw gasoline on the fire?

The answer to these are the same - Prime still wants to coach his kids. We all saw how emotional he was at the OSU game. I really don't think he wants to coach in the NFL, and he hasn't been guaranteed by anyone that he would be able to coach both SS2 and Shilo, but I fully believe there is a part of him that knows he could be swayed.

There is a not zero chance that we could see Prime, Shedeur, and Shilo in Vegas next fall - that's the organization most likely to make it happen. I think it would be a mistake, for everyone involved, but we'd be whistling past the graveyard if we didn't think it could happen.

Well, on the minuscule chance that it did happen, at least it wouldn't be hard for me to continue hating the Raiders.

I'd cap it at maybe 5%. I think he loves CU, but I also think it's important to keep Rob Livingston happy.

I saw a damn good young coach who these kids bought into this year.

someone posted a few weeks ago about Vegas being a good landing spot for Shedeur Sanders because the city fit his brand. I don't have an opinion on whether that's true (I have little perception on what SS2's 'brand' is).

I do believe that Sin City would not fit the brand of the most publicly Christian football coach in the US.

Beyond that, I still don't believe Deion Sanders would be coveted by any NFL team at this point in his career. To be clear, there isn't another coach I'd want at CU rn, but I would have zero interest in him coaching my favorite NFL teams.

Prime? He is definitely a proud Christian, but have you heard these coaches in the CFP? It is comical the amount of religion they are peddling for a sport. They've become memes.

Prime is FAR from the most publically christian football coach in the US. He also has an acceptance of other peoples sins. He openly talks to his team about 'no means no', being careful if they are drinking or smoking, etc. etc.

thanks, I probably got ahead of my skis in saying he's the most publicly Christian coach -- I don't follow the entire coaching community and should be more careful.

Nevertheless, he's very religious, anti-gambling, anti-alcohol and anti-weed. He puts out religious messages on SM near daily. I'm still not persuaded that Sin City fits his brand.

We don't have to debate this, but my last comment is simply that I get the impression he is those things for himself, and doesn't hold that standard to others. I believe his kids party. He doesn't swear but his coaches do and he doesn't seem to mind, etc. I think he would fit in nearly perfectly in LV

His best friend in the NFL was Irvin - who drank, drugged and partied hard with Prime by his side not partaking in any of that but being the life of the party on the dance floor and picking up women. Prime isn't the type of Christian who sequesters himself from life or can't have relationships with people who aren't on his path. (Fwiw, I know someone well who is similar, became a minister, but didn't let that get in the way of hanging out with his close friend Hugh Hefner at the Playboy mansion. They just transitioned it to mostly hanging out & watching games together. I always respected that.)

Where do you keep getting these numbers that you think are sufficient?

Ether, Ass, Black Hole, wherever

Mostly based on the highest paid current CFB Coaches, and a play on his #21

This contract has to have a lot of OTHER stuff related to staff, control, marketing, merchandise, everything

All worth it, just anxious to get it over with so a lot of my a-hole friends quit sending me articles

I think we can call it zero now.

I'd expect that contract to get done pretty quickly-there's ZERO mutual interest from any NFL team.

Also think there's no way SS2 falls that far now that Watson is out for 2025 in Cleveland. The talk was that Haslem was going to force Stefanski to play Watson because of the cash he's paying him. Now the Browns have dodged that bullet.

Oh no doubt. It was an odd rumor-especially with the Raiders winning a couple times in December.

On Prime and the NFL in general-he's gotta show he can get it done at this level without Shedeur in my view before that happens.

It was mainly based on the idea that Shedeur would drop and that Tom Brady's relationships with Prime and Shedeur.

Plus the Raiders' propensity to do dumb things.

Brady feels like the point man out there right now-I'd be shocked if he doesn't want that organization operating in the way the two he won Super Bowls with did while he was there. I can't see them mortgaging the capital it would take to get them from 6th (I think) to 2 to have a shot at Shedeur or Ward.

That could be a fit for Jameis Winston.
