Ladies and gentlemen, the Prime effect

Both the dance team and the Chip team often win the national championship, and I think they are always in contention. The bar is very high.

There is another point in there, though. They've been elite for a long time - even the years when the football team was bad.

So there may be some correlation between the football team and adjacent teams (Ohio State band, for instance), but there is some evidence that the success of the spirit squad is somewhat independent.
Sure the dance and cheer teams are talented. But I assumed we were talking about increasing “talent”.

I think having a strong football team / football culture absolutely does spread across the rest of the programs these days.

These haven’t been historic power bball teams.
Oregon and Oklahoma have been good for a while, probably top 25 basketball programs over the past decade putting lots of players in the NBA.

What does seem like a new trend which has really come on strong this year is the emergence of SEC basketball. It used to be Kentucky, Florida some years, and then everyone else. The trend coincides with transfer portal/NIL. SEC is giving BIG12 a run for best basketball conference this year.

Saw a little of his Hulu show and learned he is now part owner of "Blk and Bold" coffee. Just bought some on Amazon. I might post a review.

I love where I am; I am happy where I am. I can’t wait to see what the future holds where I am. I love Boulder, Colorado. I have every intention, every plan in the world to be coaching for the Colorado buffs from here on. I want to finish here. I want to put my name on the mountains out there; I want to put my flag down in Colorado.”
