It is terrible. They just made fun of our scoreboard on McAfee.

that tiny scoreboard provided glorious shade to my seats until the 4th quarter. It was nice
Anybody mentioned more space on sidelines. It’s dangerous. Plus need room for celebs and croots.
The tight sidelines are a classic and a real home field advantage.Anybody mentioned more space on sidelines. It’s dangerous. Plus need room for celebs and croots.
Oh I have. For close to two decades.Clearly, you haven't ridden the light rail previously. Jump on it sometime around 7:30 am at the Lincoln Station and ride it downtown.
Then consider all the development that has been created around each stop and the demographic it serves.
Public transportation projects aren't meant to be directly profitable, but they have huge economic impacts to the community.
I don't understand why the public wants to see an ROI from mass transit but doesn't bring it up when roads are built or expanded. I think we must be influenced by narratives planted by industry lobbyists & PR firms in service of O&G, Auto and other powerful industries without people being aware of how their opinions about these things get formed.Clearly, you haven't ridden the light rail previously. The auto industry in this country and the associated businesses have been very effective at making people think that the car they drive is a reflection of who they are. If they aren't driving that makes them a nobody.I don't understand why the public wants to see an ROI from mass transit but doesn't bring it up when roads are built or expanded. I do know that if they extended the light rail into the NW corridor, I'd go to Denver a lot more. I did that a ton on the east coast when I was young to go to NYC & Philly all the time. Especially useful as an adult if you want to have a nice dinner with some wine after going to a sports or cultural thing. Or, hell, things like the Beer or Whiskey fests. The auto industry in this country and the associated businesses have been very effective at making people think that the car they drive is a reflection of who they are. I drive because I live a place where there is no public transit. I drive older cars though that are paid for and I don't care if people think they are ugly or old.
If I lived in the Denver Metro I can see myself making good use of the RTD system. As it is when I visit my sister and want to go downtown or some other places first stop is the park and ride. The bus gets me downtown 5-10 minutes minimum faster than driving and I don't have to worry about a place to park. With rail I also don't have to worry about weather delays or traffic jams.
I don't trust anything from a newspaper that can't spell "Coloradan"
CSU and USC both sold out last week, to go with Nebraska and Stanford.
That’s not how capital campaigns work. Any plans would be shared with potential large donors, but not the general public, until they have raised enough money to fund about 75-80% of the project. At that point they go public with the plans. Right now, the best us peons can hope for is an announcement that they’re exploring options, which is kind of what we have.Would like to see a Stadium plan by the end of the season, just for buzz and discussion.
Sidelines must be enlarged, even if that means some kind of a creative setback under the seats for players.
Need to address the student seating with an increase in capacity
Fix everything about West and South Stands
The main point is announcing some type of planning
Details can follow
"Next 3-5 years" for all the projects which are West Side of Folsom, new Tennis facilities and CEC. Have to think West Side Folsom is getting started in the next year or two, with the other projects to follow
Tearing down Balch will most likely require asbestos mitigation. Very expensiveThis implies that Balch will be torn down instead of just being refurbished inside. Not a fan of that idea
I would take out the first row of seats on the visitors side to accommodate a trough running the length of the visitor benchThey should keep the tight sideline on the visitors side but expand it on CU’s side. It’s needed
You would have to break the troughs up to allow for a few $hitters in between.I would take out the first row of seats on the visitors side to accommodate a trough running the length of the visitor bench
There is nothing to recommend Balch other that it being really old and having some CU sports history. But it's not nice in any way and it's not capable of being refurbished into an adequate modern facility for sporting events. This implies that Balch will be torn down instead of just being refurbished inside. The facade is cool. The interior is garbage. If they can salvage the exterior while making the interior area more user friendly, that would be an ideal result. There is nothing to recommend Balch other that it being really old and having some CU sports history.
