NIL: How Does it Work? (Plus transfer rules)

Been waiting for something like this. And this is why RG was an idiot to demolish the NIL infrastructure built over the last 2 years. Especially without any real communication

Yup. Truth be told, we were never going to ever be able to compete with the likes of aTm, Bama, and others in terms of NIL. A salary cap gave us a better chance. But not much of one.

Separating the AD from the educational institution might be the only thing to do. Private equity model, perhaps.

Also, I don't understand this. Does it only apply to collectives? Because there's no way in hell it would be reasonable for Caitlin Clark to have had to share her State Farm endorsement money among all the other Iowa scholarship athletes.
This is school rev sharing not actual NIL

We are at the precipice of CU football
Prime is a lottery ticket
The school has to buck up right now
The House Settlement and Dept of Education stuff is scary, but you need to go all in on Prime or drop football, seriously that big of a decision right now

It is actually opposite. Sh!thole schools in poor states have had great difficulty. We have major economic advantages being in a productive state. The University needs to keep tapping into them.

Easily could have brought 5430 “in house” unofficially until everything was set in stone for next season. Instead, if 5430 needs to come back because of the aforementioned lawsuits, it’s going to look like amateur hour explaining it to potential donors

The second sentence in the first bolded section is a major oversight by the court IMO. A class of people who are not represented by counsel in the case? Ouch.

It's also pretty interesting relief that they are asking for: simply that they can continue until they graduate. Let the walkons, well, walk off - hopefully with a degree. Don't make them get cut.

I'm guessing that's a proposal that will get some support from all sides.

Also, I have no idea what Dempsey is majoring in, but if there was a match and I had an opening, I'd hire him in an instant.
