Official 2017 Coaching Carousel Thread - Zona hires Sumlin

UT has corkscrewed themselves into the ground. Frost, Leavitt, Leach, Strong, Taggart, basically any guy with options, will go elsewhere, or wait until next year.

They will end up overpaying for a B, or maybe C, list guy.

I can't help but feel that UT is just beginning their stretch like we had from 2006-2015. Their online fans are out there literally saying "we need to hire a true Vol to coach this team". I'm enjoying it immensely.

BYU: Offensive coordinator Ty Detmer has been fired the program has announced. After Kalani Sitake went 9-4 in his first season as head coach, BYU dropped to 4-9 this season. With the rest of the offensive staff chose by Satake this was a tough spot for first time college OC coupled with a first time college head coach.
 
Oregon State: Oregon State has parted ways with its entire coaching staff save for interim head coach Cory Hall, according to The Oregonian. The school will honor their contracts, but the staff was told to evacuate the football facility by Tuesday night.

I don't know. The stories of how dysfunctional the Oregon State coaching staff was this year, I would be suspicious of any of them. I'm sure a lot of it was Gary Andersen's fault but it would be good to make sure. Stories about individual coaches undercutting each other and the head coach that were pretty ugly.
