Official 2020 Fall Camp Thread

Hopefully a HC and OC can overrule a QB coach.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not going to flip out over something the QB coach said four days into fall camp before a season in which we had to make a coaching change in late February, a global pandemic that shut the world down three weeks after Dorrell got here, and debate over whether or not we'd even see the Buffs take the field this fall.

Not surprised at all if Noyer or Lytle starts against UCLA and then Lewis overtakes either one of them......but carry on with the overanalyzing of Langsdorf's comments guys.

I don't know on this one.

College aged people can respectfully disagree on a lot of things but as we have seen since George Floyd there is a big segment of the population that is no longer willing to sit back and just accept racism as being an acceptable view on the world.

Considering that most college teams include a significant number of people of color and that many of those individuals come from neighborhoods that are the most impacted by racism it is hard to see this one getting a pass.
I see what you are saying, but real racism is actually embodied by politicians and voters on both sides of the political aisle. It is easy to see which side of the aisle exhibits it most comprehensively and consistently, but at the end of the day if Americans young and old can’t respectfully disagree while still uprooting systemic racism, then we’ve ****ed ourselves and have no semblance of maintaining any balance in our demands for liberty and justice for each and every citizen, regardless of ethnicity, race, economic status, gender identity, etc.

I would actually be more worried if Lewis was getting a ton of first team reps, four days into his very first camp. Regardless of how talented a true freshman QB is, that almost never happens.

I will start panicking if Noyer is getting a lot of first team reps 2-3 weeks from now though. We are beyond f'd if he is QB1

If Moyer is the starting QB, we better be running the option because I trust his running ability way more tjan his ability to make decisions in the passing game.

I do not think you have to read between the lines here. Langsdorf is saying Lewis is going to be #3 for awhile.

I expect Lytle (my guess personally) or Noyer to start the UCLA game, but I think Lewis will be starting by the time Utah is supposed to come in here on December 11.

This is a year 0 for at least me with this staff-no spring ball, very late coaching change, and COVID-19. I think Lewis will start at least 1-2 games, but I'm fine with the way the staff is handling him for now.

If we had Spring ball, we’d be looking forward to Lewis’ first start against UCLA. At least we have the redshirt for Lewis.

There is something dead ass wrong if Noyer starts.

Against UCLA? No. If Tyler or Sam gives us a better chance to win that football game than Brendon does, they need to start it. This isn't a 7 game preseason to get ready for 2021.

I'd be surprised if Lewis isn't starting the two December games though.

The solution to racism isn't from politicians. It is from you and me and enough others making it clear that we won't tolerate it and that it is wrong.

When you have a group of people in a locker room who have experienced the consequences of racism it's hard to expect them to be very tolerant of individuals who they see as supporting it.

When the message from society, from you and me and the great majority of everyone else is that racism isn't okay then the politicians won't see it as a position that enables them to gain and control power.

Trump will get 50 million votes, which is like 15% of the country.
What percentage of the population voted in 2016?
Turnout statistics
ElectionVoting Age Population (VAP)% Turnout of VAP
2004219,553,00055.7%
2008229,945,00057.1%
2012235,248,00054.9%
2016250,056,00055.5%

I'm okay with that given how favorable the schedule lines up-to at least me. I could see a 3-0 start, and I see one no-hoper (USC) of the six known opponents.

We shall see. If Noyer plays this year, he better be lights out (unlikely).

This is like the 15th straight Year 0. :) And we always blow up on the launch pad. In 2031, I expect us to get to Year 1.

15th straight? For some, sure. For me, last year wasn't. I expected a bowl bid in year one under Tucker-not to get our asses kicked by UCLA, WSU, and others.
