Never root for ASU.

I was surprised at the final score after watching the first half.
ASU showed up in the second half, but Wisconsin took over in the fourth quarter.

That last Wisconsin drive was over 10 minutes of clock - probably the longest drive I have ever seen. Wisconsin chose not to punch it in in the final minute. It was a dominant, though not high scoring, performance.

At one point in the late 3rd or early 4th, ASU had 100+ yards of offense while Wisconsin had -7. As you said, they couldn’t do anything in the second half until that last drive. Karl Dorrell’s wet dream, tbh

Third quarter. Wiscy had -9 yards total offense. ASU only had one TD to show for their dominant quarter, though.

Thanks, Wiscy, for handing me an ASU +7.5 cover!

Wazzu getting waxed by Central Michigan. P12 before noon!
PAC 12 continues to embarrass itself. Losing to a good B1G team like ASU did isn't a bad thing but losing to MAC teams, Mediocre MWC teams doesn't help the argument that it is a decent conference.

Historicall bowl games have been hit-and-miss as to whether a team takes the game seriously. Throw on top of that NFL draft opt outs, covid and the explosion of the transfer portal and non-playoff bowl games are more exhibitions than a measure of a team.

Always has been a degree of this and we have also often seen the major conference teams disappointed to not make a major bowl and meet their season goals while the mid-major (now G5) teams look at beating the "big time" school as a chance to prove themselves.

Still doesn't look good when your conference is going out and getting beat up by a bunch of directional schools.

I can't explain it but I can't stand Nessler and Danielson.

Wazzu: "The Cougs will be without its two starting tackles (Liam Ryan, Abe Lucas), its top two running backs (Max Borghi, Deon McIntosh), and its best cornerback (Jaylen Watson) in the Sun Bowl."

He has done a great job at Air Force.

He couldn't be close to as bad as we have but success at Air Force doesn't necessarily mean that he would be successful in Boulder.

Don't know how he would do coaching guys who don't have the cadet mentality. Also don't know how he would fit into the CU community.

AFA is probably the perfect job for him and he's the perfect coach for them.
He'd have done an excellent job at CU. All the folks clamoring about how nice it would be if CU could be like Utah? That's what he would have delivered. But our fan base (really former players & long-time boosters) forced Bohn, through a politically-accommodating Phil, to hire Embree while orchestrating a concerted effort to disparage Calhoun as the typical I-25 default Bohn hire and "white bread, comfortable, candidate for the Boulder-style racists who are uncomfortable with black folks". So, yay, they got what they want.

Cincinatti making the playoffs looks like a big pity ****.
The G5 is finally getting their shot after being passed up multiple times. We’ll see if they can keep it competitive. Not looking good, so far, but we’ll see. This will be the end of any conversation about a G5 in the (4 team) CFP if they can’t.

I’m glad Cincy made it. Game could hush 1/2 of the argument typically made.

Have to wonder if the committee had a bit of an agenda giving Cincinnati Alabama in the first game. Bama has so much talent (a lot of it NFL bound) and Saban always has his teams prepared.

Saban doesn't hesitate to call off the dogs but only after he has put up a fat margin of victory.

Are they trying to make sure that the G5 team takes a solid loss that they can point at in the future when there are solid G5 teams.
