Official 2025 Opening Week - Georgia Tech Thread

it is going to be a long week.

perhaps it is just a tad premature to conclude salter cannot play, CP cannot coach, Shurmur should be fired, and so forth.

lots of **** to work on and improve. there are no world beaters in the stupid ass b12. we could still make the CFP.

To be fair - I don’t think Salter called ninetyeleven backward screen passes tonight.
Fair enough and true.

But... Salter's reads and throws (behind, and overthrows) were absolutely terrible. He could have easily run for 3 first downs, instead threw terrible passes and we punted = 3 potential scores. The WR's were upset (by their body language) with his throws.

It was almost like Salter was told not to run. There were at least 4 times he could have just taken off and picked up good yardage instead of chucking the ball in the general direction of a receiver.

The DL is, particularly the interior just got their heads handed to them tonight.

GT is a pretty good team. I suspect they will win 8-9 games this year.

Shurmer is offensive Kryptonite. He could foul up a cup of water.

Uhh…Salters…

He had numerous open runs on scrambles where he decided to throw instead.

Salter isn’t going to get a million called runs like King. He can’t sustain that kind of punishment.
He’ll be just fine because dude is obviously soft af. He’s in love with that sideline.

We were begging for Shedeur to run at times last year and we finally have a legit runner at QB and he’s out there not looking to run. Almost like he was trying to show he can throw.

This. Especially Leftwich calling plays. Shurmur is so, so bad at calling plays and gathering rythym with what's working. Salter is shook, he's so good with the ball in his hands, just not big enough and inaccurate.
Is leftwich even here??? I mean i knkw they announced him as a mentor but is he actually here on a day to day basis

What a horrible game. Yeah GT is a tough team to play. But coaching can win that game. Turns out having the boss out and handing the keys to Hart, Shurmur, or Livingston while the boss is sick is not a good idea. Leftwich should be elevated tomorrow. Make Shurmur QB coach and Hart the guidance counselor.

First game overreaction from many here. Tough ass offense to defend and first game with Salter at this level. No excuses but those are reasons. GT is going to be a solid team. Not ACC contenders because Clemson is a legit Natty contender but GT will compete for second or third in that conference.

When CU is 3-1 going into BYU, the same people ****ting on them tonight will be pumped going into that game.
If they are 3 and 1 I'll apologize. But i saw very little to be excited about tonight

Don’t understand why coach prime didn’t use timeouts. Awful clock management.

our run game got better as game wore on. Nice to see the TE get some touches. I think he had 2 first downs. If salter has some poise and footwork we have a chance at some W’s.
I’ll give you a hint why he didn’t use timeouts. It’s the same reason he always takes the ball first in OT when he wins the toss. It’s because he’s really bad at game management. That’s also why he punts on 4th and 1 from midfield when we haven’t stopped our opponent defensively. He’s an elite recruiter and a poor game manager, much like CU’s legendary coach.

I can see the potential in the offense. Welch and Price averaged 6/carry. The team ran for close to 5/carry (146 yards). Taylor is dynamic with the ball in his hands. The OL is significantly better. The defense was more bend don’t break and certainly not dominant, but made adjustments and played better in the second half. They need to get better at getting off the field and Livingston needs to adjust sooner.

End of the day, they are a relatively equal squad in week one as Georgia Tech. It was a tie game with CU having the ball and a chance to win with 4:30 left. Salter left many plays on the field that could have put CU in a much better position throughout. Someone had to lose and it was CU tonight.

I think I read that Salter is trying to reinvent himself as a pocket passer to make a run at the pros and that is why he came to play for Shurmer.

My guess is that we see a lot of him choosing to throw instead of running this year.
