Official 2025 Opening Week - Georgia Tech Thread

I’m with you. Given how many new players we have, I was worried that we were going to get boatraced by a more cohesive team.

Disappointed to be sure, but not distraught.
This is one of those games that hurts because of the way we lost it-you can't get three turnovers and turn that into 7 points against a team like GT.

Georgia Tech could be playoff caliber good though-King is an animal, and their ground game is the best I've seen in the last couple years outside of a service academy.

In his post game comments, Prime basically said the loss was not Salter’s fault. That’s arguable. He did say that we brought Salter in because he is a dual threat. He felt like Salter should’ve run more but that he apparently wanted to prove he can throw the ball. 🤦‍♂️
Then this is 100% on prime for not putting his ass on the bench. Its not the time nor place to be "figuring out" how to be a better passer.

Start Juju.

Wow we miss Shedeur and easily win if he’s out there

1. Salter was really bad passing
2. Never felt confident on O or D. With the game on the line I didn’t think we would score or make a stop
3. 7 points off 3 early TO’s is inexcusable. That lost the game
4. Defense is overrated. They didn’t make a stop basically after the 1st Q

Both of our #8s sucked ass tonight.

Joseph Williams 1 catch for 10 yds, but at least he took an extra 10 seconds to leisurely stroll back to the line of scrimmage with the clock running.

DJ, our self appointed NFL caliber CB, played 8-12 yds off every receiver he covered. I can't figure out why their WR screens gained so much yardage.
DJ played well.

In his comments GB pointed out that we have 70 something new guys (I can’t believe that is true) who have been together for one month and that it will take time to gel. Also, he said GT was a really tough season opener.
CU should always play a cupcake to open the season. Northern Colorado or Delaware State would have fit the bill.

We lost by 7. But GT committed 2 unforced turnovers and one interception on their first 3 drives. The way they were moving the ball, without those TO’s they would’ve scored a minimum of 10 points. So that’s a 17 point swing. Without those three TO’s we’d have lost by at least three touchdowns.

But you can’t really play “what ifs” I suppose.
Without two 3rd down penalties that extended scoring drives, they wouldn’t have scored a TD and FG. If Salter had tucked and run instead of overthrow a bomb on their second drive, they get at least another 3.

Those were up forced errors. You can’t play the what if game on just one side. CU played well enough to be right there with GT tonight but couldn’t capitalize

For sure. I acknowledge that. But GT was more than 7 points better than us. That’s hard to deny.

Just got home from the game. I thought the play calling was weird, kept going with the bubble screens and flares, losing yardage many times. Salter is a running QB, but they don't seem to have anything scripted for that. He just runs out of trouble. On the last drive, we wasted so much time, could have used shorter passes to get in better position for the final Hail Mary. And....took two timeouts into the locker room.

Big Al has spoken. Fire Pat shurmur. Was a terrible hire at the time of hiring, and even worse hire in hindsight. The people who defended it at the time should apologize. You know who you are (@Darth Snow being one of them)

“You broncos fans are just being emotional, your org sucks and Shurmur didn’t suck!” I remember reading on here

Were you at the game? He airmailed numerous passes that would have changed the game.

Very inaccurate and terrible release. His fame is to scramble and run. He played poorly. We miss Shedeur
Yes, 99% of the QB will make these types of mistakes in the game. Salter has game changing capabilities, you just have to use him correctly.

Did you see Kings today? Did you see Jackson Arnold playing today? Both of them are worse passer than Salter.
