Official 2025 Opening Week - Georgia Tech Thread

The shine has worn off. The media was actually correct.
Not sure I'd go that far, we're replacing a ton of talent and that's not easy to do when you're not a Georgia/Bama/Oregon caliber program. Bound to be some growing pains. And I actually care about Buffs football, that alone is a huge upgrade over years past.

I'll admit it's a bit baffling to bring back Shurmur when he was completely carried by Shedeur+Hunter last season. And it looks like Juju should get a shot, even mediocre QB play brings home a win tonight. The 3rd down play on offense prior to the 2 minute warning was insanely bad, Salter had a wide open receiver AND running room there and sailed the throw. It's honestly hard to tell if Salter just isn't very good, Shurmur is terrible at calling plays for him, or both.

Don’t understand why coach prime didn’t use timeouts. Awful clock management.

our run game got better as game wore on. Nice to see the TE get some touches. I think he had 2 first downs. If salter has some poise and footwork we have a chance at some W’s.

Shurmur 🗑

Salter - poor decisions, reads, and throws

Have Leftwich call plays
Start Juju
This. Especially Leftwich calling plays. Shurmur is so, so bad at calling plays and gathering rythym with what's working. Salter is shook, he's so good with the ball in his hands, just not big enough and inaccurate.

that was some systemic failure right there. hard to single out salter. lots of blame to go around, including the staff.

we gave everyone the recipe--- run the ball. stop the run. we've got some conference opponents that will be able to capitalize if we don't see improvement.

that gt offense would contend in the b12. it is very well done.

Our play calling seemed kinda whack. Our clock management isn’t good. Old Forester single barrels at 100 proof are the cats pajamas. Next time your local booze dealer has one just buy it all and stay out of liquor stores for the rest of the month

Look at this stupid ****…

That team would win the Big XII…probably the second or first best team in our schedule.
I mean, this is Deion’s 14th season as a head coach, and he still doesn’t know when to call a timeout? He calls a timeout before a punt return, and then lets the clock run out in the last drive with the other two timeouts in hand. It’s inexcusable. There’s no other way to put it.

Worry about your own failing team

Rob Livingston game plan wasn’t great. Shurmur’s was worse. Primes clock management was bad again. This is a coaching loss all the way around.
all the trickery in the run game really ****ed us up. I don't think we will see a more difficult offense to defend than that one. the clock stuff was awful. they need to delegate one of the staff to own that. if you are going to do an nfl style coaching staff then at least delegate this type of stuff. I felt like the play calling was too risk adverse. salter hit a ****ing big td pass in traffic early. it seemed the staff was more afraid of turnovers than willing to take some shots. we definitely gonna miss 2. heh.
