Official Bowl Season Thread

You think Baylor beats them?

I picked UGA and I'll stick with the Dawgs winning a low-scoring game. Georgia's offense has not been very good for much of the season and in addition to the players who are already out for this game there's also a chance that Swift won't play. But I certainly won't be too surprised if Baylor wins this game.

ESPN is slobbering all over Texas. Ughhhh. Hate these guys pumping the Big 12 when this will be their first bowl win

This Utah end of season was reminiscent of CU in 2016. They had a nice run, but couldn’t put it together at the end of the season and got destroyed in the P12CG and Alamo Bowl.
Nah, CU was completely overmatched vs UW and OSU. Utah is a far superior team to Texas but they just don’t give a **** after losing out on the playoff.

Not sure about that. The talent on Texas is far superior to that on Utah. Remember Utah just signed their highest rated recruit in program history a couple weeks ago and he is only a 4 star. Utah is good when they are not outmatched by superior talented teams. This is why they struggled vs SC too.

Texas went 7-5 in the Big 12. Utah went 11-2 in the better conference. There is zero chance Texas is a better team than Utah regardless of recruiting rankings.

I would’ve said the same thing about Colorado vs Okie Lite in 2016. But... the game went differently.

Oklahoma State was 9-3 that year. Big difference. Texas sucks
And apparently so does Utah. Texas had a regression season to be sure. I made a lot of money fading UT this year.

However, 75 points against and 25 points for in Utah’s last two games is a brutal look. Nice year, but they couldn’t handle the spotlight.

I don’t think you are getting my point. Utah is not a better team than Texas and it’s because of the gap of talent. Utah has shown time and time again that they do not fare as well vs superior talented teams. USC, Oregon, Texas.
Utah might be better coached than Texas, but at the end of the day, having better talent is what’s going to win you the games 80% of the time. Texas is by far a better team than Utah. Texas also lost to two playoff teams by 1 score each

Texas Losses: LSU by 7, Oklahoma by 7, TCU by 10, ISU by 2, Baylor by 14.

Utah losses: USC by 7, Oregon by 22, Texas by 28

Notable UT wins: OSU, KSU
Notable Utah wins: Washington, Cal, ASU

Even with more losses, it looks like Texas is the better team on paper. Utah never beat a team with more than 8 wins and Texas lost to 3 teams that finished with at least 11 wins

You know of any Power Ratings that has Texas ahead of Utah prior to tonight?

talent is probably decently close despite rankings. Utah has a bunch of NFL types off the top of my head. Texas has some NFL dudes at WR and QB, but not sure how much they have on defense.

looked like Utah just didn't show up and Texas wanted it more. Plus it was basically a home game for Texas. Plus Texas is looking super strong headed into next year, I'm thinking borderline CFP team #hype

I still believe this is more about Utah not showing up more than Texas actually being good but just losing to such good teams. Of course, that’s if you believe in you are what your record says you are.

Ya mine, seriously though. Utah is a very well coached team, they have a few good players, but until they start recruiting better they won’t be as good as it seems. They looked great dominating a very down Pac-12 until they met teams with superior talent. It has happened all year, they just haven’t faced many big teams to expose them, but when they did, they sure got exposed.

Do you think Utah loses to LSU by just 7? To Oklahoma by just 7?
