And they put up 224 yards against one of the worst defenses in the SEC that gave up 382 yards/game. A top 4 team doesn't do that.
They played the toughest schedule, went 12-1, won the best conference, and took down #1.
Records aren't built equal.
McElroy literally just gave a speech about how the SEC's performance over the last decade justifies this.
Alabama played the 3rd toughest schedule per Sagarin, FSU was 62nd.

Can you answer my question above? That’s all that matters.
I don’t think I’m alone when I say CFB gets less and less compelling each year. I don’t know if it’s the changes to the sport, growing older and understanding the inequities and lack of competitive balance, or both.
Used to watch all CFB. Then just big bowls and conference games. Then just conference games/conference bowls. Then just CU. Then half our games last year. Prime brought me back, but that won’t be long-term. Once I move out of Colorado in the next few months, it’ll definitely be far less important to me
I just don’t find it very entertaining to watch a sport where there is so much competitive imbalance, media control, and subjective bias. The whole thing is just dumb and kills the idea of what sports are supposed to be (in my mind anyway)

My CFP picks:
1. Iowa - because they have the best punting and kept UM under their season average.
2. Oregon - because they scored the most points by using trick plays against overmatched opponents and only loss is to the #2 team (twice).
3. UGA - because no one should be punished for losing a conference title game and we need SEC representation.
4. Louisville - because they had their first string QB healthy and his name is recognizable (even if it's a more suitable occupation for him).

I did. You are entrenched in the status quo and use the final clause that was inserted to protect the SEC.
By your argument there is no reason to play the season. Just cherry pick who is the best four teams from the SEC and there is your playoff.

Yea, you can. Need to look at wins/losses.
If that were the case there would be quite a few NFL teams without Super Bowl rings. Not every champion is Brady/Manning/Mahomes/Montana
I'd say that if they played 10 times at a neutral site Bama wins 6 times.
FSU has the better defense.
Milroe is only a slightly smaller question mark against a quality defense than Rodemaker or Glenn is.
I think that you can say without Travis FSU and Bama are comparable. A month of practice for FSU, knowing they're running their offense through Rodemaker makes a world of difference.
So, when you're splitting hairs on who is better today, you should revert to who didn't lose it on the field this sesaon.
It should have come down to comparing Texas and Bama, the way I read the protocol; not to Bama and FSU.
Bear in mind that the only non 2024 SEC or B1G team in the top 13 of last week’s AP Poll is FSU
If all records are equal then yes you can just use records but they aren't
