I’ve never attended the AllBuffs tailgate and have no beard. Not sure what moms on the menu means…In my head-canon, almost everyone on AllBuffs is a middle-aged lesbian. Avoided Allbuffs tailgate to avoid the sad truth it’s all overweight middle aged white guys. Exceptions below:
CU3X is a 75+ year old guy with hobbies including potato salad and the American Legion
Hawg - cyclist (lol)
Bread - mid 30s guy, knee to ankle is the same diameter. Not fat, just mid 30s sports bettor / work-travel / stadium food & beer enjoyer physique
Manhattan - bald, salt/pepper beard, moms on the menu
Da Lama - moderately high BMI, yells at little league coaches, active youth sports parent, former coach of something we’ve never heard of
Duff - Ron Swanson type character
Nik - generic middle aged white guy who likes baseball cards & collectibles
If Staub plays like he looked for the few possessions we saw him in, we should win this game handily imo. Im really looking forward to friday night.Watching Houston games, I'm thinking Vegas might be get smoked this week. Colorado with Staub should be -10. Even with Salter -2.5. Houston QB been holding the ball too long, WRs are having a tough time getting off coverage against Rice and SFA. This isn't a creative quick game team like Delaware or a run option team who quick game like GT. I like our chances to win in the H even with Salter. Colorado metrics don't look good but some of this is chemistry and finding fit. We saw this with the LB core before figuring out it's NHG and Bentley that's the guys. Not Bentley and Woods. These changes may seem small to Vegas but for a team that flips their roster yearly like CU, it's significant
NHG insert improved the secondary which improved the DL and of course improved the LBs. These moves can affect everyone.

Me too but he also thinks Staub is the next coming of Joe Montana based on what 15 plays? Sure as hell hope your right on both counts #1pick!I hope you're right

If that is the case, I would wait closer to game time, as that line is steaming in Houston's favorI haven't been this confident since TCU when I bet 10k. I've already bet $ 150 on this game. That's the most I've bet on a game in two years.
Again, his full game against Utah two seasons ago was pretty solid. I said it before, I'll say it again - it didn't feel like a huge drop-off from Shedeur and that's coming from a huge Shedeur fan.Me too but he also thinks Staub is the next coming of Joe Montana based on what 15 plays? Staub is solid, but you all need to temper your expectations. Whomever starts, they are going to need to get some help from the booth to win or in the likely absence of that, play way over their head. Not ideal.Again, his full game against Utah two seasons ago was pretty solid. I said it before, I'll say it again - it didn't feel like a huge drop-off from Shedeur and that's coming from a huge Shedeur fan.
I would advise against that!I do actually. At this point I just need to meet Uncle Ken and Darth Snow to finally put a face to the name. If there is still an AllBuffs tailgate and either of you attend I may be in town for a game or two this year. We can talk football
Joe mention is more of a play on his style of play, footwork, size and similar arm talent and jersey number. Reality is, if he's maintain data with Noah Fifita, we hit the lottery for this specific season with Staub. Montana at ND showed a lot more than what Staub has so far in terms of clutch factor, will to win, and obviously, in terms of consistency but this is his 2nd overall start. My focus is just seeing him produce consistently. That's what high end P4 level QBs do.Me too but he also thinks Staub is the next coming of Joe Montana based on what 15 plays? Sure as hell hope your right on both counts #1pick!
To be fair, Salter doesn’t look for anyone besides his first read.On the fg drive to get to 10 salter missed him wide open in the end zone to overthrow a covered Adkins.
Salter just doesn't look for drelon in the red zone. Wtf
Staub is willing to throw the ball away, doesn’t take sacks, and is a little faster than ShedeurAgain, his full game against Utah two seasons ago was pretty solid. I said it before, I'll say it again - it didn't feel like a huge drop-off from Shedeur and that's coming from a huge Shedeur fan.
Salter has simply put been atrocious on throws 10 yards or more which make up 1/3rd of his attemptsMy son’s and his friends’ theory is that Salter doesn’t have a great grasp of the offense and, therefore, Schumer has to dumb down the play calling. Hence a nauseating number of bubble screens.
Juju has a better arm that Staub or Salter, Salter is a much more gifted runner that either Staub or Juju.Staub made three plays that gives me hope that he could be someone special. The pass to Trackhawk for a TD. The PI to Joseph Williams and the run for 1st down which was tough and decisive. All were playmaking plays which I didn't see from Staub at all in his first year. People ask what is the biggest jump Shedeur made from his freshman year to Junior year. It was his off platform plays where he had to make a play that might not be there based on the playcall and where we are with the timing of the offense. That's where Shedeur became special and that's when he hopped to Mel Kiper and guys BB. Staub showed 3 plays where he was a playmaker. Even as a freshman, we saw his prestine footwork speed which gathered offers and his pocket awareness and pocket presence.
The playmaking is what we didn't see. It's not just the footwork speed, footwork technique, size, and number that gives you shades of Joe Montana. His arm isn't overwhelming as well. He's clearly the least talented of the bunch. Doesn't have the insane accuracy of Shedeur. But even as a freshman, you saw a feel for the game that was like, he's definitely a lesser talented freshman Shedeur but he has somethings even freshman Shedeur didn't have.
He sat for another year. He could have barely improved but based on his game against Delaware, I saw significant improvement. I think Staub might have a NFL future. His potential as a WCO QB maybe just as amazing long term as Shedeur's in that scheme given time to sit for a couple years and learn.
We might have fallen into a future NFL superstar. The way I saw Sincere Brown look at him as well as Yaya and our other OLs who were in the 2nd and 3rd unit. They truly believed this guy is special. They didn't look at him as the help. They legit looked at him as the best QB. They believed. Those 3 plays was more impressive than the audible plays for Brown even though that was impressive too. These 3 plays are the ones no one can stop.
I want to see the OL better in run blocking when Salter isn't the QB. Salt threat of his legs puts fear into the defense. Juju and Staub simply don't. You can see a difference with Staub at QB. The confidence of the WRs if they aren't the 1st option. They are running routes hard like 2 is back. It wasn't the same feeling.
Staub might got something. Still in the air with it. You know, I love a lot of QBs but consistency is something most of them struggle with. This entire class outside of Beck has struggled so far this year. Eyes on Miller Moss, Staub, and Pribula, almost committed to Prime at Jackson Diego Pavia, former CU QB Brandon Lewis, Maivia, Longeran, Aguilar, and Evan Simon are guys are am really watching right now. Just about everyone else been way too inconsistent this year. Mensah shined week 1 but struggled against Illinois man dominate coverage.
So, all the bubble screens last year were because SS2 had to have the offense dumbed down? Bubble screens worked last year because you had exceptional players like Hunter and Wester getting the ball in space. We have different players this year, ones that might not be ideal for an outside screen game. Yet we keep going to it with ZERO success. It's not rocket science to look at our WR room and say, let's get a vertical passing game going, throw it downfield and let guys like Miller, Williams, Drelon and Brown go get it.My son’s and his friends’ theory is that Salter doesn’t have a great grasp of the offense and, therefore, Schumer has to dumb down the play calling. Hence a nauseating number of bubble screens.
"Salter has a strong arm." I keep seeing this on this board. It doesn't mean jack sh!t if you can't put the ball anywhere near where it needs to be.Juju has a better arm that Staub or Salter, Salter is a much more gifted runner that either Staub or Juju.
None of that matters if it isn't used in the right way.
Juju deserves all the attention he got (gets) as a potential QB but he is still a 17 year old who is supposed to be playing against high school secondaries and dating cheerleaders right now. He needs some time to learn and adjust and he is smart enough to know that. As long as he gets opportunities to keep working and advancing he will be fine and he will eventually be a plus QB but that isn't right now.
Salter has a strong arm, he is a faster, stronger, and shiftier runner. None of that matters if it isn't used correctly. Making the decisions on when to throw or when to run, who to throw it to and where to put it, seeing and adjusting to what the defense does in much more important than raw talent and Staub is far out in front in that department.
We saw one play where deep in Delaware territory Staub pulled it down and ran more than 10 yards for a first down. Salter on that same run using his running skills probably would have had at least 5 more yards but would he have made that run or would he have either thrown into coverage or hesitated letting the defense close down the hole Staub ran through.
I can see his teammates having confidence in Staub. They want a guy they can count on to make the right decisions. Buffs have enough players with the outstanding playmaking ability, especially at WR but also at RB that it is more important to have a QB who can take advantage of their talent than rely on his own.
Bubble screens work with motion involved. You stand there in the exact same formation and you tip that the same play is coming and the corners and safety rotate and jump the pattern and our receiver gets murdered. So, all the bubble screens last year were because SS2 had to have the offense dumbed down? They need to dial up more go routes for him. If there's no safety help, you don't need to be all that accurate other than avoiding an under throw interception."Salter has a strong arm." I keep seeing this on this board. It doesn't mean jack sh!t if you can't put the ball anywhere near where it needs to be.
No, they don't. Salter cannot make accurate throws beyond 20 yards. I've said this since the beginning of camp. They need to dial up more go routes for him. If there's no safety help, you don't need to be all that accurate other than avoiding an under throw interception.
Agree with you completely. Strongest arm in the world doesn't matter if the ball doesn't end up in your receivers hands. Part of this is physical and a bigger part comes from decision making, not only making the right decision but making that decision on time. I don't see Salter making those decisions."Salter has a strong arm." I keep seeing this on this board. It doesn't mean jack sh!t if you can't put the ball anywhere near where it needs to be.
If he's playing yes but the right decison is not put that decision on him. Play the guy who has shown he will make the right decision and hit the right guy. They need to dial up more go routes for him. If there's no safety help, you don't need to be all that accurate other than avoiding an under throw interception.
Shockingly he was actually really good at Liberty from 10+ yards, especially in 2023.No, they don't. Salter cannot make accurate throws beyond 20 yards. I've said this since the beginning of camp.
Shedeur got legit speed. His acceleration is bad. Bro got WNBA explosivenessStaub is willing to throw the ball away, doesn’t take sacks, and is a little faster than Shedeur
Shedeur however, is elite accurate, extends plays as well as any “slow” QB I’ve ever seen, has a slightly better arm, and is tough as ****
They both have different games. Shedeur has more talent. Staub won’t win you games or lose them. Shedeur can win you games
