Official CU vs Utah game thread

I will say, the last two games I've had a bad experience with out of the closet fair weather newbie fans. Last night lead to an "F" bomb exchange between my son (dad not proud) and a prima donna bitch who arrived at the end of the first quarter. How do people show up late for a HUGE 5:30 game?

Speaking of the noob fans, I was in the IPF before the game and the USC-Notre Dame game was on. Dude decked out in Buff gear asked his friend the following question: "If USC wins this, they win the Pac-12 West, right?".

Love the bandwagon and there's still a lot of room, but smfh a bit.

While loving the bandwagon as it pertains to the $$ coming in, hype, support, etc going forward, does anyone else feel a little annoyed seeing all these new fans adopt CU as "their team"? Part of me hates anyone who hasn't suffered through the last decade and chooses to proclaim themselves Buff fans now.

Not really, I'd rather have bandwagon fans than be the laughingstock of CFB. The more the merrier.

kinda reminds me of a thread i once read at texags.com in the big XII days. on their hoops board....in the first successful go-to-the-NCAA tournament year with Billy Gillespie...there was a multi-page thread where more Aggies than you'd think was possible were arguing about whether a high number or low number RPI was good or bad. pretty far out stuff.

no, i'm not comparing CU football to ATM hoops. just the bandwagon keeling over, a wheel in the ditch...a wheel on the path.

You must have missed church this morning, bitch.

The people directly behind us (a bunch of grumpy 55+ yo men) were bitching about Sefo the entire first half. I turned to my cousin and said "These ****ing idiots behind us have no idea what they are talking about and it is driving me insane".

I actually didn't hear much from them after that.

A little off topic but I want to vent.

I normally don't watch pac 12 network for my football replays and breakdown but I decided to try it today. Mistake.

Yam asked the two guys (Lincoln Kennedy and some other dude) who should be pac coach of the year. Sort of a rhetorical question as he knows who it should be.

LK - Clay Helton
Other dude - Petersen

Yam then says Mac should be pac coach of the year and should be the national COY.

I turned the channel immediately and won't be back.

Lincoln Kennedy is an Idot. He's been badmouthing the Buffs all year always making excuses for the teams we keep beating. **** him.

Not that I want "homers", but you'd think the P12N would want to "sell" its success stories. But I get how non Buff fans could have a hard time believing this is real.

Bandwagon fans will come and go. UO just had an exodus.

But for those of us that have put up with bad football for the past 10 years starting at losing at ISU in the tornado game, to have the nubs beat us at home when the student section got cleared to backing into the championship game and 70-3 and the MSU loss, the double or triple OT loss to **** Bailer, to a fluke OU win, Mizzou losses, KU loss in the 4th, Fresno St, going 0fer in conference for the first time ever and the many many close loses over the past 2 years we have something they don't.

So much appreciation for the guys on the field last night. This season has been joyful and not just fun. So band wagoners are welcome because they didn't make it less fun at all for me.

No prob w bandwagoners...more the merrier...and they don't enjoy the pain we hardcore fans have endured...can't blame anyone for that.

Oh no. I live in the f***ing Central Time Zone of the Big 12 Conference footprint. If more people want to rep CU it brings a smile to my face and reminds me fondly of home in the rare moments I see it. If fringe college football fans in Denver were choosing to wear CU when I was living there and I saw banners and merchandise selling like piss balloons on a hot Folsom day I would be similarly elated. Just like when the Broncos got their playoff swagger back in the Manning era. Come one, come all.

Where it does irk me is when someome claiming to be a huge fan opens their mouth and shows complete ignorance of the situation, like the "Pac West" comment noted above. I'm trying to flaunt some superiority about Pac fans and CU in particular being a more knowledgeable class of sports fan, and dumb statements like that bring it down to your garden variety t-shirt fan. Let's not let this wagon's weaker wheels get exposed!

Asked my dad about it (he watched on tv). He said that not only was it clearly a 1st down but there was a blatant clip that wasn't called on the return.
I definitely thought it was a first down and couldn't understand why they weren't reviewing it (CU took a timeout for specifically that, but they never did review it). The clip on the return was a 50/50 call IMO. Could have been called but would have been kind of ticky tack.

Thanks. My DVR inexplicably started recording midway through the first quarter. It looked like a first down from where I was sitting

Same thing happened to me. TV listing had the game starting at 6 instead of 5:30, so that is when the recording started.

Actually, I thought the missed block in the back was more egregious than the spot.

I don't think they would have reversed the spot, because it was very, very close as to where the ball was when he was down.

The block in the back, on the other hand, wasn't a very hard block, but it was the one that sprung him. Just because he didn't clean his clock doesn't mean it wasn't a clearly illegal play.

Not sure about the rest of you on the DVR recording, but I caught that xfinity was showing a 6pm kickoff, which I knew was wrong, so I recorded the one hour pregame as well, just in case. Sure enough, I have the whole game, but now split across these two recordings.

Was it only Xfinity/Comcast that screwed this up, or was it multiple providers?
