Official CU vs Utah game thread

This was the game to rush the field no others.

I could get on board with that sentiment if we hadn't rushed the field in the prior two wins and been heavily fined for it. Even then, you don't rush the field when you're a TD plus favorite at home. Stupid.

I sat with Witherspoon's sister, who was down from Sacramento. She was loud, she was sweet, and she was pretty. I'm reasonably sure that I love her. I think I love her mom too, though, so it may be inappropriate.
Talked with his dad at the Oregon game. Pretty awesome dude with lots of pride for his son

So, Utah may actually move up in the rankings.

Winners Behind them:
Unranked VaTech beat up on lowly Virginia, maybe jumps them
Unranked LSU whooped Texas A&M probably jumps them
25 Navy won big over SMU - maybe jumps them
24 Stanford took care of Rice - probably jumps them

Losers Ahead of them:
20 Houston lost to Memphis and will drop below them
19 Boise lost to Air Force and should drop behind them
17 Tennessee lost to Vandy and will drop below them
16 Nebraska lost to Iowa and maybe drops below them
15 Florida lost to Florida State and won't drop below them
13 Auburn lost to Bama and won't drop below them
5 Louisville lost to Kentucky and won't drop below them

That's 2 to 4 teams they might fall behind, and 2 to 4 that might drop below them. So their range is 19-23. Although I'm probably missing a team or two from outside the rankings that might climb in.

It feels damn good to be a winning program again! Folsom was electric tonight and you can tell how much people just love the Buffs in Colorado. Whatever happens next week Mac and the boys did a fantastic job.

I want to dig up the Pac 12 preview that ESPN aired. Not a single moment was given to CU, the only mention they got was as a walkover game on the other team's schedules. The thing is, I didn't really think ESPN was out of line for ignoring them, I just felt sad that the program had fallen that far for the whole decade.

I was hoping for 6 or 7 wins and a bowl game, but that was more hope than belief. This season exceeded expectations a long time ago for me, and it just keeps getting better.

Regarding the field rushes.
1st game: Mac's first win over a South opponent.

2nd game: Mac's first win over a ranked opponent.

3rd game: a division title.

The field rushing IMO had nothing to do with the particular opponent we beat. it was all about the milestone we had achieved.

Rushing the field to celebrate winning a division title was great - it was an experience my kids will never forget and the event staff handled it great, with announcements requesting everyone wait a minute after the game ended before going onto the field.

A big group did that "It sucks to be a CSU Ram" chant which I thought was weak.

It was fun to watch the fans hit the field and dance with the team. Very appropriate. It was hard not to just watch and smile.

What a great game!!! Except for when the 19 yr old Ute puked all over the CU fans behind me. Didn't know how to handle his first ever beer. GO CU!

Fans rushing the field tonight was fine. Like a $50,000 fine. Honestly, if we have to pay it, I'm OK with it. This was the final home game of a very special season. Go ahead and rush the field. I guarantee the players loved it.

I was right in the middle of that group. I agree that it was lame, but the kids were really enjoying themselves.
some kids started that in the tunnel on the way out of the game. Me "what the **** are you doing? WHo the **** cares about CSU"

Chant starter: "..."

Does anyone have pictures from the game they can post on here? I was relegated to reading play-by-play on NCAA.com (every other site used up too much band width)...of which the mother****er shut down 5 min into the 3rd and didn't get started back up until 7 left in the 4th...then shut down on 2nd and 1 on the final drive. I couldn't tell who won for about 20 minutes.

Lol the group was near me in section 117 and they continued in the hall. I heard you. Good for you. I was thinking the same. And some of the people chanting that weren't students.

Tonight was about CU and CU only. CSU does suck, but I only give a crap about that garbage program the week of the RMS.

eat a giant dick.

So I take it you think it's a good look for our program and school to rush the field for a third consecutive game, one we were favored to win by more than we did, then have some of our fans roughing up a security guard trying to protect the post game interview with Sefo, including some kid who ripped the Sko Buffs Santa hat off the guard's head? It's not. It makes the program and school look low rent.

I would have no problem with it had it not happened the prior two games and wouldn't have mentioned it at all had the security guard assault not occurred.

Nice and well thought out response, though.

You're overthinking this.

No one around the country really cares if we've done it for three games straight. In fact, it probably adds to the feel-good story.

Truth is, we've been a dog**** program for a decade. There's bound to be this kind of reaction.

Agree... this needs to be added to freshman orientation or something. That chant, during any game other than CU-CSU is almost as pittiful as aTm having "goodbye to Texas University" as part of their fight song.

Exactly.

After week one, no one should care.
