Other Games 10/29 - 11/2 Buffs bye week.

I think *technically* we want them to lose so our SOS/SOR is better, but it’s probably inconsequential

Let’s go Tech!
It’s nice to want to watch that game as much as I want to hate watch Nebraska because it really has implications for us. @RK hit the nail on the head with us getting to meaningfully scoreboard watch for the first time since 2016

The last 20 years I’ve just preferred to hate watch because the nubs losing was at least fun whereas watching other teams in conference contention didn’t matter as much.

Yeah I have more interest in this TTU/ISU game than I do Oregon/Mich or UGA/UF

I really don't see a path for us, save for crazy stuff that gets us into the CCG and we can grab an auto bid.
2 losses and P5/P4 status seems to be right on the #11 bubble in the historical CFP rankings. Going back to 2019 I count about 2/3rds of the P5+Notre Dame crowd that finishes with 2 losses as being #11 or higher.

I think the TV ratings appeal would be a nice tie breaker for us, and the committee will be a lot more discerning about ranking those teams from 8 to 15 now that it really matters.

I also think we don't need a ton of chaos to end up with a 3 loss team from the SEC or B1G in the top #11 by the end of the month.

Final CFP rankings and P5 teams with 2 losses that finished below #11

2023 - Oklahoma 10-2 #12

2022 - Washington 10-2 #12

2021 Oklahoma 10-2 #16, *Oregon #14, Iowa #15, Wake #17 take their 3rd losses in CCG, were ranked lower than #11 going into CCG

2020 - Omitted COVID

2019 Minnesota 10-2 #18, Notre Dame 10-2 #15, Bama 10-2 #13.

Tech came to play. This Morton kid they have at QB can play a bit. Raiders up 7-3 and driving.

Go Gators. **** Kirby Smart. Dude looks and acts like he was bullied in school.

I'm watching the start of the KSU-UH game and gosh the crowd at TEDCU Stadium in Houston sucks. Can't be good for recruiting for the Coogs.
