It’ll be immensely enjoyable to watch their reversion to the mean once Whitt retires. We’re not a rival, but I’ve really come to despise that fanbase and will revel in their suffering in the years to come. I sense a post mccartney-esque age of denial and coaching churn as they yearn for the glory of yesteryear

Most will switch allegiance to the new hockey team, and the UofUtah will go dormant.
 
Utah wins that game easily with a healthy QB. Not sure he will ever be healthy again though. He’s playing in one leg and with a bad throwing hand.

And no #2 hurts.

Still, ASU is really good. Upper 3rd which is an amazing job. But I think Utah would be the class of the conference with a healthy Rising.

I remember when the fans of the team the Buffs play today were like that 20 years ago. Fitting, somehow.
 
I'm kind of interested in the USC-PSU game but I don't think I'll watch it exclusively or prolly much at all. Big Ten games I can't stick with, historically*. Day game at USC seems odd to me somehow much like Oklahoma-Texas seems like it was in the Big Noon slot for so many years. Nice shot out of the barrel at the Cotton Bowl to start the 2nd Saturday in October (old West metaphor there).

Today, 1:30. Some SEC hocus pocus I guess. And both with byes last week. Seemed like in Big 8/Big XII days one of the two would get caught looking ahead or win and come out flat the week after. Kinda part of the RR drama.

10 am MST games are a bit snoozy today minus RR.

I'm interested in the outcome of USC and PSU, I guess better way to say that.

As a Vandy guy (sort of) not a huge fan of Franklin.....my Vandy peeps thought he was a scumbag which made it surprising (or not?) when he took the Penn St. job.

Go figure.

Not a fan of Riley much either and not at all of USC.

Ralphie is obviously the best tradition in college football, but I think the coolest one is the Iowa wave to the Children's Hospital. It's the only tradition I can think of that the other team all takes part in too.
 
GT up 10-7 at UNC.

Heels are 3-3 and I'm kind of tracking them because I think it is Mack Brown's last year. Hoping they are able to get to 6 wins and send him out right.
 
Super weird moment in the UW-Iowa game. FG attempt seemed to go directly above the upright, which would have made it no good. Ref directly underneath the upright paused and looked to the other ref, even though he's the only guy in the stadium who can definitively say if it is good or not. He finally signaled it as good. Iowa eventually challenged the ruling, only to have the refs say it wasn't reviewable - after reviewing it to see if it was reviewable.

The reactions from the Bama fans would be out of this world if they lost again this week.

They have all the resources, tradition, foundation of talent, etc. but the worst job in sports is following a legendary college football coach. Osborne managed to follow Devaney, trying to think of others who did it successfully.

From the moment Bear Bryant retired the Bama fans weren't happy until a couple years into Sabin's term. The coaches who followed Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, Darrell Royal, etc. all struggled to find acceptance.

And it seemed like Iowa’s was the same.
