My feeling since early October has been that UGa is going to roll to the natty, so we're all just trying to figure out who they're going to beat.
TCU might lose by 14 more points than Ohio State or Tennessee will, but it really doesn't matter.
Right? At least Big Ten refs suck in a way that helps the conference.
I remember seeing you there. You went into Balch Fieldhouse and announced six more weeks of winter.

Big Ten's trying for something that I don't think happens. Michigan's OOC is bad enough to where they need to be undefeated to get in. If we're talking about UCLA in that light, we should be talking about Michigan in that light too.
I don't think the loser of Michigan-tOSU gets in the CFP

Assuming they stay undefeated and win their CCGs it will be hard to deny Georgia and the winner of Michigan -tOSU.
That leaves two spots. TCU stays undefeated and wins the B12 would be a travesty to leave them out.
What do they do with the last spot.
If Ohio State loses a close on to Michigan (don't think this will happen but if) think they would be in.
Tennessee would have an argument currently being #5 but they lost to Georgia. LSU will have another loss in the CCG.
Clemson could argue as ACC champs and they will move up by the selection.
Most logical would be USC who only has one loss by one point to a ranked team. Committee may also be feeling some pressure having left the PAC12 out in recent years.
I'd put the pecking order for teams that win out like this:
1. UGA (in even with a loss to LSU)
2. Michigan-tOSU winner
3. TCU
4. USC
5. Tennessee
6. LSU
7. Clemson-UNC winner
Georgia is in barring a loss to GT
Tennessee needs a loss by one of: TCU, USC, or B1G East champ in the CCG
LSU would need losses by 2 of: TCU, USC, Tenn, or B1G East champ in the CCG
Clemson-UNC winner would need Georga to beat LSU plus losses by 2 of: TCU, USC, Tenn or B1G East champ in the CCG
I agree. UGA, TCU, OSU & UM control their own destinies. And since 1 of OSU/UM have to lose it means USC also controls its own.
Good breakdown.
Only changes I would make is that if the Michigan-tOSU game is close the loser is still going to be sitting there in the top 5-7 spots, especially if that loser is the Buckeyes. Would agree that Michigan is overrated but the B1G still gets a lot of respect, even if not justified.
LSU to stay in consideration has to beat UGA in the CCG, see very little chance of that happening.
The problem with LSU is how do you jump them above Tennessee?
Vols beat them 40-13 in Baton Rouge.

The only way you do is if they somehow beat #1 who beat Tennessee. Don't see that happening.
Also keep in mind that a lot is done on reputation. It is supposed to be based just on this year but Tennessee has been bad in recent years before jumping up this year. How much does that impact them.
Agreed, I don't think LSU jumps Tennessee. Look at 2016 where PSU won the B1G and beat tOSU but had 2 losses. Yet tOSU with only 1 loss is the one who got in the CFP. Same situation this year plus this time Tennessee has the win over LSU. Which is why I said above that LSU not only needs to win out but would still need help from a couple teams above them.
The committee has shown that they don't have the guts to put in a 2-loss team over a 1-loss P5 team regardless of schedule and who they beat
