Other games weekend of 11/3-11/5

It's already happening. There were season tickets available and being advertised on local radio before the season. The next revamp on the stadium will reduce overall capacity. NU still demanding fees for the right to have a season tickets and it's not scaring those holders anymore, they are starting to walk. The streak will end soon, as soon as the boosters that are buying the leftover tickets say "enough"

A visit from our rational Nebraska fan (or as close as they get.)

The B1G was the wrong fit for Nebraska, what does this say about how bad it is to share a conference with Texas. Nebraska left their traditional rivals including OU, left their traditional recruiting grounds of Texas, and went to a conference where they would have less influence in conference decisions. All this to get away from the Horns.

So glad that we had the option to go to the PAC. We can complain about national coverage and respect but our situation is so much better now.

Gonna say it. UW is not a top 4 team. Certainly not playing like it.

While we're on that subject, Michigan looks like the best on field team. Doesn't really matter right now-Ohio State and Michigan still have to play, and the loser there won't be able to recover.

UW looks like a good team, but not a great team. They mud-holed Stanford, but that was the first time Stanford realized they were only average and a lot of things snowballed on them.

When we play them in the CCG, it will be strength against strength (their offense vs our defense) and weakness against weakness (their defense against our offense, which we must admit has been inconsistent). Should make for a fascinating game.

Are you talking about Washington? And saying their defense is a team weakness?

I think Washington being tested on the road like this is awesome for them. This is a young team still, not like Clemson who has been there before.

Guys. UW is going to win this game running away. Cal can't stop them and can't win a track meet with them.

I am concerned about the USC/UW game, though. USC has righted their ship.

Relative to ours ... definitely. And they're showing it tonight. Their front may be good, but as S2S said, their secondary is unimpressive, at least tonight. And their D gave up enough points to Utah that they needed a late punt return with a flagrant uncalled illegal block to clinch that game. Of course as I said, our offense with the exception of a couple of games has been inconsistent to say the least ... so that's probably a wash. I think we beat them with our D in the CCG.

UW and CU are carbon copies of each other in a lot of ways. The match up in Santa Clara will be interesting

I can't agree with that. The move to the B1G was very good for the academic side of the university. It was also vey good for athletic dollars. It's has sucked for the fans to leave the history and rivals behind.
NU was on the right side of many of the votes that broke against them on the financial side of the B12 and few had their backs, not just Texas. The fanbase is standing on the top of a potential sinkhole, once the ground gives way and public opinion changes (say a scandal or political misstep) it will implode or have the potential too.
The fans remain the backbone, strength and best hope for the university but it's going to take some forward thinking to realize that and protect it. The $40 million they are getting from the B1G could/should offset the increased ticket surcharges rising ticket prices, parking costs, seat back costs (and other forms of tax to be a fan) but the greed and arms race of big time collage athletics.... I think they are riding that old horse into the ground with old time thinking, enough to damage the relationship with the fans.
You can't fault the fans, the sell outs, the rabid fandom, the top 10 attendance for a joke of a basketball program, the sellout streak of women's volleyball, the top 20 attendance for a baseball team that hasn't been anything special for a decade.
I am a partial outsider, I follow football and that's it. It gives,me perspective without the red tint. I am far more a Creighton fan as far as how I connect as a fan and the way I respect how I'm treated as a fan. Creighton has it figured out.
The over the top constant coverage of NUFB is unreal here, it has its own reality bubble that ends at the states borders. The feeling of national relevancy, their own opinion of importance... It's nuts and amazing, both at the same time.

Was listening to 104.3 today and the ESPN guys spent 10 minutes discussing whether or not if Alabama lost to LSU and wasn't a conference champion how you couldn't put them in before Washington. Because the PAC 12 is "weak."

The Pac12 may end up with 6 teams ranked in the final week. (UW, CU, UU, WSU, USC, & STAN)
