Pac-12

Glad we got some help tonight. Cal is now alone atop the Pac at 6-1, and this drops Stanford to 5-2, and thus they're now even with us on 2 losses (along with Arizona, Washington, Oregon and UCLA). One hell of a logjam, but we're right there and that's all that matters at this point.

Oregon State leads UCLA 51-49 in the second. Hopefully the Beavs can win this and knock UCLA behind us

Oregon State did us a favor and knocked off UCLA in Corvalis. Drops UCLA down to 3-3 while Oregon State moves to 2-5.

So:

Cal (1 loss)
Stanford, Oregon, CU, Arizona, Washington (2 losses)
UCLA (3 losses)
Washington State, Arizona State (4 losses)
Oregon State, Utah (5 losses)
USC (6 losses)

Game on, Zona.

Ducks are on pace to score less then the football team did against UCLA this year..... Maybe it is their odd ass way of honoring the football team today lol. This Duck team needs a PG so bad it is insane since nobody can create their own shots.

UCLA blows it at Oregon despite leading for most of the game. Oregon moves to 6-2, Bruins fall to 3-4.

Utah absolutely destroying Arizona State in SLC.

I know you guys hate me talking about the Ducks, but that was a HUGE comeback by Oregon! Losing 37-24 at halftime they comeback to win 75-68 thanks to a 15-2 run to start the 2nd half. Ducks won in part because of the much better 2nd half 3 point shooting and going 28-32 from the FT line. EJ Singler with a career high thanks to 16-17 FT shooting!

Looks like Utah should cruise to an easy win over ASU.

**** oregon

Looks like Huskies have a new big body on the court. Austin Seferian-Jenkins (#88 TE in football). Not too bad for the frosh.

Utah beats Arizona St 64-43. Credit to them for not quitting with Watkins gone. Utes and Devils now both 2-5.

Wow Ducks and Cal tied for 1st place now......

Nice win Colorado!

Meh, it's basically a four way tie for first place with Cal, Oregon, CU and Washington. We've all got 2 losses which is what matters. Still expect Oregon to fall back a bit when all is set. Jury is out on whether the Buffs can finish - their fate will be determined on the road against the lower to middle teams in the conference. Everyone has a few more losses on their way.

-Tough weekend for Stanford, with 2 losses. Conversely, Wazzu was able to get back into the middle of the Pac with those wins over Cal and Stanford. Glad the Buffs don't have to make the trek to Pullman (or Seattle) this year.

-Oregon held serve at home just like we did, despite looking like complete **** - even by Pac12 standards - against USC.

-Arizona State, you are ****ing atrocious. 21 point loss at Utah.

USC falls at Oregon State, 78-59. Trojans fall to 5-15 (0-7). Have to take care of business on the road on Thursday.

Irony: The only Pac12 team located in the middle of a ghetto doesn't have game.

PacHoops:

Colorado runs a staunch defense and has a legit shot to win this thing. They’ll host the Bay schools and their remaining toughest road swing is to Oregon. They still have to play at UCLA (worth reporting?) and at Arizona but with Carlon Brown filling it up, the Buffs have to like their chances.

Is it my imagination, or has Utah picked up their game since we curb stomped them? I was at the CU/UU game and they looked absolutely atrocious. Like a middle of the road high school team. They couldn't score. Were slow. Couldn't rebound. Couldn't defend. CU was clearing the bench with 10 minutes left in the game. Since then, Utah has won 2-3 games and doesn't seem to suck anymore. What gives?

They still suck, but they are playing better. I think the curbstomping we gave them woke them up a little bit. But don't get too used to it. With Watkins kicked out, they're going to be struggling again.

It's an amazing turn around, especially since they kicked their leading scorer and assist guy off the team after we played them.

Maybe the ass whooping Colorado gave them woke Utah up?

Their coach, Larry Krystkowiak, gave them an epic chewing out in the visitors locker room right after the CU game. They've been a different team since then, even with Watkins being booted they still were able to knock the **** out of ASU in SLC on Saturday, and I'm sure they're eyeing their game at USC this weekend as a great chance to pick up their 3rd win in the Pac. They deserve some credit, the way things looked, it seemed that they had a strong shot at going 0-18 aside from maybe getting lucky one night and managing 1-17.

I'm gonna go with "no" at this point. This transformation took place right after their game against us, and they've only played 2 games with Watkins gone.

Is that the same transformation that saw them lose to Cal by 38? They are terrible and a couple OK performances against some marginal teams at home doesn't change that.
