Predictions for RMS

Sounds like they decided to get somebody on board that had some real AD experience. They have been a mess since bringing on the new leadership.

Don't tell that to Ram fans. They think this is great and Jack Graham is the greatest thing since sliced bread. We will see how it shakes out, but they have to be hemorrhaging cash right now, and are being propped up by private donors - maybe even Jack Graham himself. Dangerous game to play.

The 12PAC does seem to hold a lot of chips at this table. And the long standing partnership with the BigInteger conference makes it even more powerful.

In terms of tv markets, the 12PAC not only has LA and Norther Cali, but a cumulative of other valuable areas such as Seattle, Eugene, Phoenix, and as of late, Denver and a growing market in SLC. The BigInteger has Chicago and a cumulative of areas such as Detroit, Lansing, Ohio, et. al. Lots of leverage.

There is also the longest tenured bowl game. Think of when the BCS train began its merry trek -- the Rose Bowl depicted what would happen. They basically said that the Rose could be a site for a title game, but, that it would still host the 2 conference champions. More leverage.

If the 12PAC wants to expand, it can. If it doesn't, it won't happen.

Hey gasm- according to Phil Steele CSU returns 63.49% of their lettermen to CU's 58.67%. Oh noes!!!!!!!!

lol CSU is not hemorrhaging for cash right now....We're floating in it. RamClub (while still relatively low) is at an all time high for donations/new members. Keep in mind JG could finance the entire AD by himself (wouldn't doubt if he was). Either way, the new stadium will bring in plenty of new revenue streams if we are in fact in a deficit. (Minnesota made $400k of a U2 concert alone)....Not worried in the slightest

Minneapolis=/= Fort Collins. $400MM stadium =/= CSU $40MM stadium. Maybe you could make $5k off a Tickle Me Pink concert, and that's if they don't overdose beforehand:lol:

Most of the players who left didn't play/contribute. The only players we lost who even played were Madsen, Orakpo, Capi, CJ James.
do you know what starters do? Play. So I'm pretty sure your #s aren't adding up. Also, as to your budget post, even assuming CSU is in a huge donation boom right now, you still don't have any sort of sustainable cash flow to meet the checks CSU is writing. Should be interesting to see when the spigot turns off.

Are you being paid.to post this drivel?

*$200million. Minnesota's capacity is only 15k more than our 42k stadium. The new stadium would be a better venue the the Budweiser event center which gets Lady Gaga so 400k isn't unreasonable at all

Just saying...we didn't lose 9 starters on offense like CU. I forgot on that list Gdowski and Raymond Carter (back up) to beast Nwoke but yeah, barely lost anyone. Still have nearly 18+ returning starters

What part of Minneapolis doesn't equal Fort Collins did you miss?

You do the math. 65% of 22. come on, you can do it.

Edit: or should it be 24? I realize that I have advanced a % without knowing the exact # it was based on.. No matter, my end argument will be the same.

First order of business, explain to the fans that the timeline for a new stadium will be "pushed back a bit" since most of the contributions they have gotten so far include some pocket lint with them.

CSU chits $100 bills. When the brilliant idea was stolen to send students to the NCAAT, Graham replied, "We don't have enough money to do that." True story

You are the definition of fan my friend. A true fanatic and CSewe could use a few more. You are delusional, but a true fan.

A lot of our starters missed last season entirely (Caprioglio, Sargent), while others started at other positions (Burl).

You realize you just agreed with Dio for the most part... right? You guys are being propped up by private donations. Fine for a while, but you better be finding new revenue streams soon (and not just concerts). BTW, it might be a mistake to just assume all revenue generated from the new stadium will automatically be going directly to the AD.

Awesome. Do you think that is sustainable? No conference move on the horizon, miserable TV contracts, meager attendance - how long will the donations continue to roll in? What do you think happens when the Rams get clubbed this season? What if they don't start winning by year 3?

One thing that Bohn has done an amazing job of is allowing the Buffs to run a healthy Athletic Department on the revenue side regardless of the donation levels or the performance on the field. That took a few painful years to implement, but now we're sitting in a situation where we can do lots and lots of things without having to worry as much about balancing the books. I see CSU in the opposite boat. Spending like a drunken sailor with little regard for stable revenue streams. If and when the donation rug gets pulled out, then the AD is going to be in a world of hurt, and it is going to be even more painful to dig out of it.

18 returning starters from one of the worst teams in CFB... awesome!

I have no idea who those players are. I'm sure they are fine FCS quality starters and all, but you do realize that you are presenting an absolute best case interpretation of "starter"?

no matter. you lost all of your best defensive players in the front 7. I look forward to our new QB getting a nice warm up game.

If I recall right OMFGasm works in the AD as a student. I'm thinking he is fed the company line over and over.

This is about the only thing CSU can do so I don't blame them. They need to build up their AD to have a chance at the bigger money later. The problem is that if it fails, and I don't see why it won't, they will be royally screwed. Not just the AD but the school too.

Coach Sparkles will have to have 3 years of really good football teams to peak the interest of the boosters or else that money will dry up. LE is a great coach but even with the great MBB that the Rams had last year left attendance something to be desired.

I like OMFGasm. Like Buffalo Brad said he is a true fan. I can't fault him for ignoring the negatives.

Sir, you speak nonsense. He is on our site predicting a beat down of our team. We most certainly can fault him for ignoring the weaknesses and inadequacies of his "argument"

Just looked it up and one of those guys he listed is a guy who has changed positions from FB, to TE, to DE, to LB. And is coming off an ACL tear (Sargent)

sounds like a pretty awesome starter/contributor coming back. HE PLAYS FOUR POSITIONS!!!

We can make fun and point out his ridiculous logic but I won't fault him.

Do we want more throwaway threads? This thread is one of the most entertaining things on the site so far this off season. :sad1: I'm going to go cry now.

I came here to negrep people, but kept going through the pages waiting for something even better to negrep, and it never really happened. To get my fix I'll just start going up the page from here. Sorry, dply and others.
