Recruiting weekend (12/9-11)

Interesting addition. Listed as a fullback at Cal. Edit: Twitter bio says TE at CU. 6-1 / 250

Former 3* from San Diego who went to Serra and chose Cal over offers from Oregon and SDSU. Originally recruited as an ATH.

There is a contingent of Buffs fan out there that is still hellbent on upholding CU traditions and I think they are going to be disappointed as I don’t see Prime going out of his way to do much of that.
I had a similar thought pattern when it was being rumored that HCP was going to be hired. A little context...
Some of the biggest things that we consider to be untouchable traditions around here, were developed by Bill McCartney: No red allowed in the building (brought here from Michigan). Nebraska game in red letters (brought here from Michigan). "The Pride and Tradition of the Colorado Buffaloes will not be Entrusted to the Timid or the Weak" (brought here from Michigan). Are these really our traditions, or things that we are protective of because they represent the only time we were nationally relevant during our lifetime? Barnett was a Mac guy so he continued them. Hawkins threw it all out the window, and was lynched for it because we sucked. Embree was hired to bring it back, thinking these traditions would make us successful again. They have largely been untouchable since then.

I am certainly not advocating doing away with them, BUT...HCP can do what ever the **** he wants as far as I am concerned...Just don't touch: Running out behind Ralphie, Sal, Rahsaan Salaam. So long as he wins, new traditions will come from it and no one will GAF.

Exactly and couldn't agree more.

A couple posters on 247 were lamenting the idea that Prime is going to "swag out" the uniforms at some point, and one said that he "had to earn the right to change our uniform traditions". I quickly pointed out, the only constant with CU's uniforms throughout its history has been change, both to the color and design and acting like we are in the same class as programs with Texas, Alabama, USC, etc when it comes to never changing the classic design or look is ridiculous.
