This would be pretty on brand for the old timer CU fans who are crying about this if they simply didn’t understand the history of the jersey honors (I didn’t know that either). So it isn't a retirement?
None of these guys will put their name on it. Not surprising but very lame.Anonymous NFL assistant, as reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero:
One longtime NFL assistant coach said his time with Sanders was "the worst formal interview I've ever been in in my life. He's so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. ... But the biggest thing is, he's not that good."

There's a big part of me that hopes he slips to the Steelers and that he and Tomlin stick it to all their haters by winning the division this year.Shedeur made a really smart decision to not attend the draft. If he does fall, ESPN would shame him until he was picked.
Do the Steelers even have a QB right now? There's a big part of me that hopes he slips to the Steelers and that he and Tomlin stick it to all their haters by winning the division this year.
That quote reads like the guy has personal feelings involved. Kind of sounds like a bitch too.Anonymous NFL assistant, as reported by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero:

Mason Rudolph. So, no.Do the Steelers even have a QB right now?
Good comments:That quote reads like the guy has personal feelings involved. Kind of sounds like a bitch too.
Good comments:
"Consider the context. The media outlet owned and operated by the NFL allowed this quote to be published and promoted. Pelissero offered anonymity to someone who has very strong feelings about Sanders. Without knowing who it is, it’s impossible to even begin to effectively rebut the viewpoint that was shared. In my own on-the-record opinion, it’s has no place in any media, especially not media owned by the league.
People should be upset. They should speak out. And not just about the content of the quote, but about the fact that the NFL gave that quote credibility by giving it oxygen.
One person who is upset about the quote also works for NFL Media. On Wednesday’s Good Morning Football, Kyle Brandt went off on the anonymous bashing of Sanders.
“I’m in my feelings about this right now,” Brandt said. “Maybe it’s because the draft is tomorrow. . . . ‘The worst formal interview I’ve ever been in my life. He’s so entitled, horrible body [language], he’s not that’ — shut up, anonymous coach. I am so triggered by this. Shut up. This is not only anonymous, I think it’s tasteless. I think the timing is ridiculous. ‘The worst formal interview I’ve ever. . . .’ Is it really? Is it, or are you just going for a headline? Or maybe have you not been in that many interviews in your career? ‘This is the worst one ever’? Or maybe, maybe the vibe that you set in the room was critical, and Shedeur picked up on that. And maybe he was right, because the first second you could, you betrayed the sanctity of that room and went anonymously and started spouting off about this player. ‘He’s so entitled.’ I see entitlement in a grown professional who is going around anonymously destroying young athletes with very personal quotes anonymously as they’re about to realize their dream and become professionals."
first, I have no recollection of how Manziel was reported by the media and perceived by the public, nor can I comment over whether he's a valid comparison or an example of cherry picking....
Why was Manziel universally loved and thought of as "fun and exciting" and Shedeur is getting **** on by most of the country? Hmmmm wonder why?
This is a convenient reshaping of the Manziel narrative. Manziel had red flags all over his prospect reports. The only difference is he was playing in a higher profile league and had a few impressive wins. Their college careers were just two different situations and I think JM's gave him a bit more of a media darling type. However, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows when talking about putting your money where your mouth is - the NFL draft prospect reports. The only thing you need to consider is that the CFB world and NFL analysts LOVED Johnny Football. Maybe not everyone loved how he would translate to the NFL game, but everyone loved his attitude and showmanship. He had the money hand signal that everybody loved at the time in the same way Shedeur had his watch celebration.
JF final college season - 70% - 4,114 yards 37 TDs 13 INTs - Record of 9-4 (won Chic-Fil-A bowl)
S2 final college season - 74% - 4,134 yards 37 TDs 10 INTs - Record of 9-4 (lost Alamo bowl)
Obviously Manziel had a Heisman season the year before with worse passing numbers but he ran for 1400 and 21 TDs which is pretty ridiculous, but their final seasons were almost identical. Manziel added 700 yards rushing and like 9 TDs while Shedeur was net negative due to sacks with 4 rushing TDs.
Why was Manziel universally loved and thought of as "fun and exciting" and Shedeur is getting **** on by most of the country? Hmmmm wonder why?
Bruv, all you had to type was the word highlighted in red above.first, I have no recollection of how Manziel was reported by the media and perceived by the public, nor can I comment over whether he's a valid comparison or an example of cherry picking.
that said, my take, SS's public image is very much tied to his father's. Discussed in another thread, HCDS is polarizing. On top of that, HCDS has been doing a great job (maybe too good?) of gathering the spotlight to himself, CU and his kids, keeping those topics on the front pages of sports reporting for a few years now.
so, I think the ****ting on that you're seeing is a result of the combined public fatigue with polarization of his father, who Shedeur is very much coupled to in the public eye.
I suspect others will just say "racism", which is likely also a factor.
I think if you take it one step further, much (most, all?) of the angst about Prime is rooted in racism too.first, I have no recollection of how Manziel was reported by the media and perceived by the public, nor can I comment over whether he's a valid comparison or an example of cherry picking.

What are the red flags with Shedeur? This is a convenient reshaping of the Manziel narrative. Manziel had red flags all over his prospect reports. Manziel was listed as a risk by true scouts and the charlatan talking heads like McShay. Remember the Bill Bellichik leak?
Manziel fell to late first round, like it looks like SS will. So to say there are different vibes around them are different.
SS is >>>>>> Manziel as a pro prospect, but I can understand the red flags. I am just betting he performs better out of his dad's protection. I think he steps up and grows up as long as he has some patience.
SS did a lot for the CU program, but I think its better for his and CP's careers that it won't be father-son out there.
He takes sacks. And some bulljunk about arm strength. All this crap is either mass racism or a smoke screen. Either way, 90% of these "draft experts" and scouts are sh!tty at their jobs and it's proven every year. What are the red flags with Shedeur?
God forbid, he has the audacity to believe in himself. Honestly, I would rather get picked later, the teams picking in the first 10 slots are horrible, later teams like the Broncos aren’t looking to fill massive holes. He’ll be more successful if he goes 20 or later in the first round. Pittsburgh would be the ideal spot for him, great organization. What are the red flags with Shedeur?
I get the feeling he wasn’t tallking about play. Which is why I was asking. He takes sacks. And some bulljunk about arm strength. All this crap is either mass racism or a smoke screen. Either way, 90% of these "draft experts" and scouts are sh!tty at their jobs and it's proven every year.
Watch, the Giants will take him at #3.
I was mostly comparing the national media and fan narrative throughout their respective seasons. I agree that when it came down to draft time, NFL people had their doubts and criticisms. This is a convenient reshaping of the Manziel narrative. Manziel had red flags all over his prospect reports.
