Texas State Game Week (Official Thread)

I like the direction this thread is going....

I had this poster when I was 12. She was my first super model crush.

M2 isn't going to roll up 70s on Texas State, he simply isn't that kind of coach. He will call of the dogs and go into kill the clock mode early enough that even a couple a returns or turn over related scores won't push us over.

And Kathy used to have a home in Boulder, maybe still does, and spend a lot of time there. Met her a couple of times, she looked just fine without all the make up and things used when she modeled.

CU's offense better hang 56 to 60+ on these guys.

I don't want to see the disinterested second half that produces 3pts or less.

Easy W, but I don't see that record falling either this week or next. MacIntyre started calling off the dogs LY against Idaho State when we were up 49-0 at half. My guess is these next two play out that way. We do enough to get 40 plus point leads on both these teams, and then we start calling off the dogs. It's all about fine-tuning things and making sure we're healthy for UW on 9/23, and I'd bet if I went to their board.....they're probably singing a similar tune.

So score with the back ups, trying to run out the clock in the 3rd quarter is weak.

I fully understand your points and agree but this team needs to start playing both halfs instead of one.

One of my favorite movies...

Our new kicker James Stefanou is like 3 of the TSU players from the movie rolled into 1....

-non-traditional 30 year old freshman (Paul Blake, the QB)
-Australian playing American football for the first time (Mckenzie, one of the WR's)
-soccer player turned kicker (Lucy Draper/Kathy Ireland)
Did you guys see the CU girl kick the field goal for $5,000 in scholarship money? She would've been good from forty. Sign her up!

First, I expect CU to blow them the furk out.

What I'm really curious about if that happens is what it means for the OL rotation.

Will the OL 1s play the whole game?

If not, does Pursell burn his redshirt? Does Sherman?

Assuming it's a 2-game suspension for Irwin, that 2nd team OL is: Miller-Tonz-Pursell-Sherman-Middlemiss.

Who started in place of Irwin again?

Get him work at OG and keep Sherman's redshirt in tact?

Do you play Pursell or give Huckins the extra work?
Admittedly, the OL is not a position group I know much about in terms of who can play where, but I was just thinking more that he could use all the reps at LT as possible, if he's going to be Irwins backup

Miller can't play OG. I suppose that Middlemiss could slide inside to OG and Miller could play RT.

I wonder if the OL struggles are purely due to the suspension patchwork or if they're simply a good distance away from being a cohesive unit. I'm no expert, but it would seem running the hurry up offense increases the likelihood of OL trouble -- much less time for the protections to be analyzed and prepared for. I would think the hurry up would require near perfect pre-snap precision by the center and his team mates. They're no where close to that yet.
