What to make of this reportedly multiple-year, reagent facilitated drive for Steele with him reportedly leading the coup?
I still think this whole Steele thing is a smokescreen but we'll see.
I see Auburn has gone to the Tennessee school of how to hire a football coach.
This is worse than a Tennessee coaching search.

I think so. The question is can he actually rebuild a program. He obviously never had to do that at Wisconsin and he failed to do so at Arkansas.

I have been texting with my old roommates on this, and they have both come around to being good with Steele. I said why fire Malzahan for that, it just doesnt seem to be an upgrade, to which they agreed, but hoped that it could also be a Dabo type hiring as they didnt get why you fire Bowden for Dabo. Unfortunately I think they are doing what Auburn does - fire with high hopes and settle for more of the same.
I don’t know anything about that situation, but sounds like they are talking themselves into it because that’s better than the alternative of not having hope going forward
