Wasn't Orlando fired? Not to dismiss lawdogg's point, hard to work with doesn't seem ideal, but I'd venture to guess a lot of the top tier coaches are pretty hard to work with.
I mean even KD, vanilla as ****, had his OC of 3 games liking tweets about firing him. Head poked into too many meetings apparently
Looking at his Texas days, Herman did have Tim Beck as his OC for several years until the last year. Todd Orlando was his DC from Houston until the last year at Texas too. I almost wonder if that was booster forced to fire the OC and DC. Looks like his OC at Houston was Major Applewhite, who ended up getting the HC job at Houston after Herman left
I find vague “difficult to work with” notions to be difficult to take seriously, especially since it is based on speculation and innuendo.

I disagree. There’s lots of folks who don’t have the first idea who Pep Guardiola is.I don't think there is one person on this planet who will tell you that Pep Guardiola isn't "difficult to work with" as he's an obsessed psychopath who is extremely demanding but at the same time he delivers results and breaks record like nobody else.

Idk but I bet he’s a prick and hard to work with!Who is Pep Guardiola?
Only the most famous, um, sports guy (I think) in the whole ****ing world!Who is Pep Guardiola?

Those who know who Pep is will get my point.
Todd Orlando. I thought I read somewhere Herman ****-canned him before he went to USC.I don't understand your question,
He’s the OC for the Houston Texans. I never heard he was difficult to work with, so strange reference for sure.Who is Pep Guardiola?
See above post, a good comparison, imo, though Pep has more actual championships.

If only we had Barca or City's money.
We can have Barca’s money, just need to take out about a billion dollars in debt and we’re there. If only we had Barca or City's money.
Uh, Herman went to, and won a bowl game every season he was in Austin.I know this is a bit of an 'asked and answered' question from above, but I still do think it's a good idea to be wary of coaches who had a certain level of success somewhere and apply that level of success to what they should be able to do here.
Yes, Texas is a ****ing looney bin. Still, if you're not making bowl games 4 out of every 5 years, you're not achieving what the average coach should do in Austin. We can't assume that Herman would be able to recruit to Boulder, we can't assume he would be able to get us to a point where we have better talent than our opponent 75% of the time, which is just the norm for Texas.
Which is not to say I'm necessarily against Herman, I am just wary of him.
Honestly, my ideal coach is someone who has shown that he can win with less than ideal circumstances. Problem is, I don't who tf with that kind of qualification is going to come here.

Why do you ignore Herman at Houston?
He’s the most successful coach Texas had since Mack and was fired partly for non-football related issues that not only wouldn’t be a problem at CU but would probably be welcomed. And he was great at Houston. This better be RG if this guy even takes RG’s call. That's my point though. He should. That's the baseline for average there.
What's our baseline? Can we find someone to raise our baseline?
How many flatirons do we really need anyway? I'm thinking that left one could fetch a pretty penny...We could try selling 20% of our future B1G TV revenue for an immediate cash injection.
Duplicating success is always the concern. Proven winners that have done it well at multiple stops are always in demand and would be nearly impossible for CU to land. Herman has an excellent track record at almost every stop, and has out performed his peers that bookended his time at Texas. Urban Meyer and Art Briles are probably the only unemployed coaches that are a sure thing to win (and get you on probation a few years later).I know this is a bit of an 'asked and answered' question from above, but I still do think it's a good idea to be wary of coaches who had a certain level of success somewhere and apply that level of success to what they should be able to do here.
