Travis Hunter Appreciation Thread (Awards: HE12MAN, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff, Bednarik, Lott, Paul Hornung, AP PotY)

Congratulations to Travis and his teammates and coaches! What an amazing player, and awesome representative for our school. I'm so proud of this kid.

Imagine time traveling back to 2018 and telling the doofuses on Allbuffs that in '24, we would have the Heisman winner and the top QB in the country, and that they are two different people... What a great day to be a BUFF!!! Glory Colorado!

Edit: Also, while you're time traveling, tell them that Deion Sanders is our head coach. Yes, that Deion Sanders. lol.

I think there is definitely something wrong with me... while I am unbelievably happy for Travis (THE Greatest Buff of All Time, and an amazing human being), I am choosing to read reddit and get angry instead. I know they are all douchebag neckbeard losers that have never played a sport in their lives but their smug confidence in their horrifically bad takes just gets to me.

Travis' decision to go with Prime 100% paid off, how many other 17/18 year olds would be so bold. Special person.
I like finding the rational people in reddit.

I took a moment to reflect on Rashaan, but before I became too melancholy I embraced the sheer joy of Travis’s victory. Truly amazing to be a CU alum/fan/student right now.
Thank you Travis!
Thank you for getting it right committee
Best player in the sport wins it 30 years after Rashaan!

I gotta say this though-Shedeur should have been a finalist over Gabriel. To put the numbers he did up playing behind what we'd all admit isn't that great an O-Line.....

How was Travis only on 93% of the ballots, the other 7% should have their voting privileges revoked - maybe I missed something
Not winning the Far West is weird, as is Gabriel finishing ahead of Ward. Either there are voters who prioritize wins over everything else or some Oregon voters were complete homers.

He only received 80%+ of the total possible points which is 11th all time. RIDICULOUS!!

that was a really great acceptance speech and his mom was great. fowler was awesome.

I don't wonder at all about the 7% of ballots. that is the anti-Prime effect, right there. 12 was all world for the last 2 seasons and he will be a legend forever. he earned alll of this.

congratulations to a great young player and this is the stuff we all still love about college ball, despite everything going on.

Go Buffs.

I'm so happy that I can't even be that mad that Hunter's margin of victory in terms of votes was the smallest since 2009.

Hunter: 552 1st place, 2,231 total points
Jeanty: 309 1st place, 2,017 total points.

Ok I'm a bit salty, dude put up the football equivalent of a Shohei season and somehow it was still a close vote with a running back from the ****ing mountain west conference (can you imagine what Travis would've done to MWC competition all season?). I'll admit that Jeanty is awesome but his season doesn't even come close to what Travis did. Melvin Gordon put up a better season than Jeanty back in 2014 against far superior competition and didn't win the Heisman.

Definitely shows how the CFB world still is a bit biased against our program and how we do things.

Shedeur and Travis split the vote anyway. If Shedeur is there Jeanty wins plus we’re talking about a three loss team from a non power conference.

It’s fine the way it is.
