Way too early Depth Chart

Hers is what we do know. He could not supplant a struggling Montez this year. Never got a whiff. That concerns me.
They decided to ride a 5th year Senior, 3-year starter who owns most of the passing records at CU, rather than play a Freshman who'd never gotten a whiff.

Why they didn't play him vs Oregon or WSU in 2nd half is a bit less comfy for sure, to your point. But hardly conclusive.

I think there are too many moving parts in the secondary to expect real consistency in 2020. I expect some real ups and downs week to week.
I'm an eternal optimist in the offseason. I believe that we'll have a legit starting group settle in and take significant steps from 2019 -- which went from (other than Abrams) cobbled together to a frickin' MASH unit. From that, though, we saw the rise of Trujillo and Rakestraw. Perry came on at the end, as did Luckett. With Blackmon & Miller returning, the Bethel transfer and Gonzalez coming in, I feel like we're going to have a solid group. Much more solid if Udofffia gets right -- he was a below average starter at CB in 2017 and 2018 but showed me enough to make me think he has the ability to be a reliably average safety.

I admit to giving Sparaco more credit than he probably deserved. With the guys coming in (especially if Harris comes here) I think Sparaco plays mostly on special teams.

I'm just glad that we're at a point as a program where we're not relying on guys like Sparaco in order to be able to compete. If he earns snaps, great. If he doesn't, we'll be just fine.
