If they did they would switch up and have CU play USC and have UCLA play Utah.

So Cal will be on a lockdown so have usc come to Boulder and have UCLA go to SLC. Play at 1:30 p.m. nationally on ABC and there's a game of huge importance a casual viewer might tune in to see. This makes too much sense.

gary wtf GIF

Klatts tweet would be a better idea. In the event of both USC and Colorado being undefeated after next week, they should really make that the conference championship game. Imagine there’s too much pull in the North to make that happen though
Yeah. This. Let CU and Utah play next week and USC and UCLA play like they are supposed to. Then if both USC and CU are undefeated, both go to the CCG. It’s an easy choice to make.

not happening. Just enjoy the ride. We've not had many fun ones.
If you're RG, you at least have to make a huge stink about it IMO. We all know USC will balk and Larry Scott will give in to them because he's a grade A cuck, but at least make him have to do it publicly and show his cards. Essentially rewarding USC for having to cancel for having an outbreak shouldn't/won't sit right nationally when CU to this point has managed to prevent an outbreak themselves. The PAC 12's concern about COVID and the importance to the conference managing it is why they were the last P5 conference to get back to playing. They set the precedent that being overly cautious about COVID and teams properly managing it is more important than getting back to playing. If they hand this thing to USC, it's basically signaling that all that doesn't matter when it comes to USC because they are held to a different standard.

We all know that the PAC12 was the last to play not because Scott truly cared, but because he is two dollars worth of pu$sy and wanted every other conference to make the decision before us and see what happened first to cover his ass. If we make a big deal of it, he has to either give in and we get a chance or he has to show his ass and maybe it helps push him out the door.

You think RG had any input to the tiebreaker rules? Or the decision to have divisions this year?

No idea. Whether he did or not, this whole thing is unprecedented and being flexible and adjusting to changes a necessity. They couldn't have possibly accounted for every scenario, and likely didn't consider this one. What point are you trying to make here?

I sense that Klatt is pushing this now as opposed to after the games are played next week because he understands the PAC 12 needs a week to figure out the best course of action.

If they were smart, they would pit the Buffs against the condoms in the championship game, assuming both win out. Who cares about the crossover now that there are losses by everyone in the north.

Simple solution. If CU and USC both win, schedule Washington and Washington State (who probably would like to play each other) to make up for two normally South teams in the championship.

Wilner had another angle that could get us to play USC in championship game:

Basically, there is a clause that if the conference only averages 4 games per team then the 2 best records play in CG. Looks like if only 3 games are played next week, that clause would hit.

Wilner reports the P12 ADs voted on this. There already is a provision for two teams to play each other in the CCG
You play by the rules set.

I favor CU playing USC this week. I don’t think it will happen.

If USC wins today, it’s time for the Pac to start considering alternate matchups for next week or the conference champ game. I am partial to Klatt’s idea (USC v CU in CC game) if both win out.

Could be much ado about nothing. According to statistical models, there’s around a 1:4 chance both CU and USC win out. UCLA is probably our best win and may give USC its toughest challenge. (Not sure the Cougs are a cakewalk for USC tonight either.)

There already has been a lot of rescheduling of within division games. To me, it makes sense to have CU play USC next instead of Utah.

The schedule has already shown much fluidity, including who we would play for our 7th game. We were supposed to play USC anyway so having us play them next, especially for an extraordinary reason, for south division championship, would be best.

We gotta beat Utah and USC has to win two games for this to matter.

I obviously will be pissed if we get ****ed, but I'm not going to put too much mental energy into it.
Always good to remember that USC hasn’t beaten a team that had won a game this year before yesterday. I don’t think they get past UCLA. Chance they won’t win tonight. We just have to beat Utah and see what happens.

If the Pac 12 cares about national perception (not sure I can be convinced of that) the best thing would be for CU and USC to win out, then meet in the CCG. Two undefeated teams. No one blinks and eye in this crazy year if both are from the south. Now, for the PAC 12 best chance for a playoff team would be if USC wins that game. Not sure CU gets in if we win.

However, for the best CU benefit, both CU and USC wins out and then USC signs Helton to an extension. (Fibby jumps back and high fives himself)
