Wish The PAC 12 Had Balls

Not sure if it was true, but there was some chatter that USC could have played us but Helton didn’t want To go with three backup OL.
I’ve said all along they knew we had the ASU game cancelled on us, so they had a game in hand. Was totally in their best interest to cancel and have the tiebreaker. Not saying they did it. But certainly is a factor perhaps in the decision to say they had too thin of position groups. Then was miraculously better a week later.

To be fair, finishing a term of quarantine isn't "miraculous."

But I would venture to guess that the B1G looks back at that as a bad move especially from a pure football perspective, although @onealcd brought up some great points about network upcharges in markets that are in a conference footprint.

I think the ACC adding BC was a similarly bad move. BC is probably the 5th best draw in the Boston market, at best. Plus I doubt there are that many ACC alums in the Northeast since more people tend to move South or West later in life.
I think the B1G will get over themselves with the extra $10 million per year in TV money that they have by adding Rutgers and Maryland. That money has enabled even average players to have big boy money.

Growing up in big 10 country and living in California, i would absolutely hate CU going to the big 10. I am just bored by the predominant style and all the games are gray and depressing. Let’s just get a p12 commissioner worth a ****.

But how is a new commissioner is gonna increase the value and attraction of the Pac12? A new commissioner isn't gonna change the apathetic fanbases and the timezone disadvantage they face. And don't think for a second that recruits didn't notice that the Pac12 was reluctant to play this year, started 2 weeks later than any other P5 conference, and the ONLY reason they're playing at all is because the B1G forced their hand.

Meanwhile Scott is inexplicably working on negotiating a new contract while the conference is virtually invisible in this year's CFP discussions despite the fact that their most prominent program could finish with as many wins as tOSU. Not starting the season until the first weekend in November made this conference even less relevant than they already were.

And the money is a whole other thing. The Pac12 keeps talking about how well positioned they are for the next round of media negotiations, but how about all the lost money and notariety the conference has lost in the meantime? There's no indication whatsoever that the Pac12 is about to land a big media deal, in fact it's likely quite the opposite. When your conference members receive ~$150 million less than your competitors over a 10-year period, you’re staring irrelevance in the eyes.
